I was at a theme park recently that has a booth selling nothing but "Twighlight" merchandise. It was certainly getting a lot of business.
Walking away from this booth was a group of Teenaged kids. Now, I'm not usually the sort to comment on people's fashion sense, whatever makes you happy. I dress like a hobo most of the time, so I ain't one to talk. Yet, I can't help but ponder it in this case. These kids were wearing standard 'preppy' style clothing. Nice jeans, clean white Nike shoes, pastel colored polo shirts. The sort of outfits that blend into the mall and don't get noticed. But then they had these really cool gothy sort of vintage coats with brass buttons and stuff. They also had on some nice gothy scarves and one girl was wearing fishnet gloves. It was a bizarre amalgamation of prep and emo: premo, if you will. I want to think that the outfits were a sort of commentary on societal conventions, but given the cigarette's and spitting and strained overuse of f-bombs (it should always be effortless) I have a hard time convincing myself of that. If that is what they were trying to accomplish though, then kudos to them. If, on the other hand, it's just some sort of Twee-light inspired silliness, then meh to them. *The preceding are current opinions expressed as random thoughts and in no way represent what my opinions may be five minutes from now.

This too shall pass.
I couldn't even imagine how many racoons were killed to provide hats for the young fans of Dan'l Boone. You'd have a hard time finding one of those head warmers being worn regularly now though. When the sun comes up again, all these vampire wannabes shall turn to dust too. The trick is to know what the next trend will be and sell it to 'em first. That's where the money is. |

Story about how Twilighters, or Twihards, are bringing tourist dollars into Forks, Washington (one of the settings in Twilight):

I've been through Forks. It was a nice quiet town. Once.
I confess I never read the Twighlight books, but I watched the movie with my girlfriend. The scenery was nice. I just can't stomach the whole "we're vegetarian vampires" thing. Also the whole "I'm seventy five years old and I dig high school chicks" thing is pretty messed up too. Pretty much the plot, actors, dialogue... didn't like any of that. But the town, real nice.

The acting almost made me die. The script was ... boring? The plot pretty much seemed like 20 minutes of content crammed into a 2 hour movie. It was pretty bad.

This one pleases my humor as well. Man I love the guys out there who are better with the old PC's and still feel the same why I do.

I think just made a dookie in my pants - LOL.
Twilight was an awful, awful movie. It's right up there with The devil wears prada and the one with the red haired girl who has chronic angst. If it was a song it would be by the Jonas Brothers or west life . . . If it was a drink it would be a watered down strawberry milkshake (yeeech) It just a pity that there's so much money to be made by selling sex to little girls.

And it's spelled "Twilight" not "Twighlight"...
I don't know why but that just irked me... I didn't even see the movie.

Maybe it works after you decode the basic message. As if this was the entire genre in a nutshell:
Tweenybopper to hippie parents: Look Mom, I'm going out him and he's gonna be a yuppie. Gasp. Next genre please.
