Does anyone know if there's a wand that becomes a silk? I want to do a standard TT vanish, reach into my pocket for a wand ditching the TT, wave the wand, show the silk has gone & then have the wand change into a duplicate of the silk I just vanished.

Fantasio's Wand to Silk works like a vanishing cane and would do what you want.
It costs about $20.

I was going to suggest a Fantasio Vanishing Wand also, but Jef beat me to it.

If you are lucky, you may find and old metal one. I will warn you that they "eat" silks.

Could you not use rope to silk or cane to silk?

There is even a way to use Vanishing Wand in a newspaper to come back with a silk.

After thinking about it, I'm not sure that the Vanishing wand in newspaper would not be a better route to go.

How are you using this effect, close-up or stage? What cloths will will you be wearing? How skilled are you at magic presentation?

Why I ask is because you could us the flip stick method, if you want to work on sleight of hand magic.

Check out Flip's DVD or Shoot Ogawa's Complete Wand Routine Videos. This is not something you can do right away. You will have to practice a lot, first.

I'm doing close up. I usually wear a suit. I'd rank myself as a good amateur but the flip stick method is not one I know. I'll check that out, thanks.

Shoot's DVD can be found here on this page: http://www.holyshoot.com/magicshop2.htm

Flip's DVD can be found here: http://www.llpub.com

These are pure sleight of hand, not really something you can do close-up, you will have to have 3 or 4 feet between you and the group or person. This cannot be done inches away.

IF this is not to your liking, then the Fantasio Wand to silk is a good choice or with some adjustment, the 5 in 1 wand can produce a silk on the end of the wand. Again not a close-up magic. Both these items require previous set up before performance, and they cannot be examined by the audience.

Thanks for the links. So much sleight of hand to master!
3-4ft away is ok actually. And I'm thinking this will be an opener so a bit of set up is no problem.
