Hi, I have bought the foam red brick and now wonder if anyone has any good jokes for it. Or, have you any good routine for it? You could also write for sponge balls things in this topic.

I used to own one as well, as a foam rock! I used it to pick a spectator from the audience. It's great, especially if it is taken from a pile of the real thing. Thrown blindly with my back turned to the crowd... It causes some great responses. It is also a great moment to do some sneaky stuff. Talk about strong casting misdirection.

Rannie, that was a wonderful idea that I will keep in mind next time I want a spectator up on stage. Have you any good use for the sponge frog?

At a local magic shop many years ago, one of the demonstrators would hold a foam rock up to his ear as if listening intently to it. When someone would give him a quizzical look he would smile, squeeze the 'rock' and say, "Soft rock." This always got a laugh, and as I recall, he sold quite a number of them.

I hate to put a damper on this, but I have a question. If you didn't already have a use for this, why did you buy it?

I'm not saying that I haven't been guilty of the same thing. My cup collection practically proves that!

I had an idea, but when I got it, it didn't fit.

I do story telling for school groups. One story is the 3 pigs. I have a bag and I explain the material I have, and when the kids guess it's straw, I throw it out; then sticks, I throw it out; then brick, I throw it out. Teachers freak out. It's funny.
I once saw a magician on the beach pull out a brick, hold it to his ear and say, "Hey, I can hear the city!" I am not saying these are great ideas, they're just ideas.

I have Wolf's Wacky Weasel. For a moment, I go in to the audience to have a card selected. I place the box down and put a foam rock on the lid to keep the weasel in the box. It's light but looks heavy, like the brick. Nobody has questioned it yet.

Don't know where I got this idea, but I used to have one of the foam rocks, and I put a metal bolt with a large head in it, such that the head of the bolt was flush with the bottom of the rock. I'd produce the rock (from my shoe--"I think I have a rock in my shoe!") and then drop it on the table. The bolt would bang against the tabletop--really sold it as being "real".
I didn't come up with the idea of the bolt, but like I said, I can't remember where I got it.

While playing the Commodores Brick House song, say your female volunteer is built like a brick ****house, then pull the foam brick out of her ***. Just kidding, don't do it!
