I was thinking about this name tonight -- Reincardnation. Is there an effect out there by that name?
I was thinking about how the idea of reincarnation might make a good story line for various effects, such as Card Warp, or Torn and Restored Card. A better idea, I think, would be to destroy a card, say the Queen of Hearts, perhaps even by fire, and out of the ashes comes a live butterfly. It's a tame butterfly, so it doesn't fly away. When you pick it up, you gently lift up it's wings. The spectator gazes in stunned disbelief as they see a queen's crown imprinted underneath one wing (or a Q), and a red heart underneath the other wing. Anyone know of any magic store that sells pre-tamed butterflies? Brian |

Hi Brian,
Curious thing your night thought!! A few years ago I came up with an effect dicussed here in: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......;forum=2 That I'm starting to release now called 'Reincarnation'. One of the first names toyed with for the anglo-speakers market, was 'Reincardnation' but discarded at final. Great minds think alike!!! *LOL* Regards tamed butterflies. I have never heard about it or even the possibility of tame any kind of insect. A Spanish Magi called Mago Anton is working from a long time with bugs, but as far as I know they're not tamed in anyway, their movements are unpredictable but he is getting incredible effects though. New here, this is my first serious post and be sure it won't be the last. This is a great site.
Cheers,

You CAN tame a butterfly. I had a friend who had a butterfly that lived in their house and would land on people and showed no fear of them. Sadly, it flew into a dishwasher unnoticed and became a dead tame butterfly.
You might be able to get a butterfly farm kit and get the butterflies used to eating nectar off your finger. But then, what do I know about taming the wild beast - I'm the stupid guy who keeps getting bitten by mice trying the silly putty trick I posted in this area. |

Who in their right mind would tame a butterfly to fly into the dishwater but a 'insectpath'?
Just kidding I think that could be considered instinct more than be tamed but it really has the same utility.

There is now a torn and restored effect by this name on hocus-pocus.com by Chris Nevling that claimes to be impromptu and use only one card. Interesting.
Find out what you cannot do.., Then go and do it!

Thanks.
I am 27 years old and have been performing magic for 12 years. My main interest is in card magic, but I love all aspects of it. I love to discuss magic with anyone. Feel free to email me anytime.
