Boys, please!

Those who vote for TA vote for it but stop the hype.
It's over now.
Will it contaminate every post about DVD's?
It's become very boring...

Both Michael Vincent DVD sets ("Classic Magic of Michael Vincent" and "Rhapsodies in Silver") were brilliant!

For, 2009, John Carney's "Master's Sessions" for their artistry; variety of effects; full crediting; thorough instruction, organized presentation; frank insights on developing one's creativity, audience rapport, and appreciation of classics; with clarity throughout plus quality video production.

For 2010, my prediction is the just released New York Coin Magic Seminar series (volumes 11, 12, & 13).

Congratulations to Paul Gordon for winning the best UK DVD of 2009 with Card Startlers.

A well deserved win there.

Cameron Francis summed it all up in his review which can be found on the Café.

If you haven't bought the set, why not? It's a modern day classic.

Who decided Card Startlers won? I thought True Astonishments would have came 1st.

My top 3 for 2009 would be
-Malone Meets Marlo
-Jack Carpenter's The Seattle Sessions
-The Manchurian Approach

I am very surprised so many people liked the Paul Harris set.
I thought it was extremely disappointing. This weekend I performed with several other magicians and all of them felt exactly the same way I did.

Paul wasn't performing anything.
Extremely difficult to navigate DVDs. Almost painful.
Had to buy 9 DVDs (almost laughable).
Some performances looked very amateurish as if it was the first time they tried it.

One question I have is; how many of these tricks were even Paul Harris's inventions?

I could only watch portions of about 3 or 4 before DVDs and could not bare to watch anymore at all.

I have to agree with you Frank. "Extremely disappointing" is how I would describe it. I watched all the performances (which was a task on its own) and didn't even bother to watch the explanations.

We all have our own opinions. But for me, that set doesn't hold a candle to Malone/Marlo, Mike Vincent and the Jack Carpenter DVDs.

Why was the PH set such as great a seller as I think it was?
