I'm just getting back into magic again and had a great time doing a few short routines for my sister and her kids this weekend. Crazy Man's Handcuffs went over *really* well. However, I probably performed it one too many times for them, and I'd like to have a different rubber band routine to show them next time.
I've come across three that look really good: Pinnacle, Band-it, and FLRT. They all seem pretty similar at first glance - can anyone tell me what the differences are, and which you would recommend if my budget only allows for one right now? |

Get band-it
pinnacle is pretty difficult since the teaching is kind of fast and there's not enough angles from the magi's perspective. also the 3rd phase is very difficult to perform so I had to use another effect to end it. ive combined pinnacle and band it. I have FLRT but havent really implemented it yet |

Pinnacle is a nice trick, but it does not have the WOW factor that FLRT has.
FLRT, or the work of Vince Mendoza is in a class by it self when compared to ANY other rubber band trick, with the exception of the work of the Godfather.

Thanks guys - that narrows it down to either Band-it or FLRT, leaning towards FLRT. I'll have to send Vince Mendoza a PM and see if FLRT is available.

Received the FLRT manuscript tonight. Vince did a great job with it - the instruction is very clear and detailed. The moves don't seem too complicated, but it'll definitely take some practice to get everything flowing together nicely.

Hi all
Where can I purchase 'FLRT' and 'Band It' from? Thanks in advance Matt |

Hey Matt,
PM Vince for info on purchasing FLRT... here's his profile page on the forum: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/bb_pr......ser=9950 For Band-it I think you'll need to find a dealer. Do a Google search for "band-it by Kris Nevling". |

Just saw this thread. I'm not familiar with the other routines, but personally, I love Pinnacle. Have been doing it for several years now. I think it's as fun to perform as to watch.

Magicmerlz: No problem!
Corbett: I've also heard good things about Pinnacle. You can see FLRT on Vince's YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/vincentized#p/u The Rhing Thing and Found Link videos are what's in FLRT. |

Just saw this thread and looked at the video for Band-It on youtube...to me it looks like Kris took several moves from other folk - i.e. Pinnacle, a thing from Chris Kenner's Out of Control book, and a few other things that you commonly see magicians do and put them together with a couple of minor variations on this DVD. Hopefully he credits the proper folk on the actual DVD.
I didn't have any problems with learning Pinnacle from the DVD and it gets good reactions...or should I say great reactions for a rubberband trick. Nothing beats making a sponge ball jump to a spectator's hand of course, but you know. |

I like the beginning of Pinnacle, but the ending leaves much to be desired, so I do the beginning of Pinnacle, with a rhing thing finish.

I like Pinnacle, but it took a long time to master from the DVD,; but once mastered, I wondered why I hadn't mastered it sooner, its really simple. I like the alternate finish, the one that isn't impromtu -- that ends the four phases with an audience open-mouthed... Bold ,but worth it.

@ Dr. Lexx - I liked the Miracle Finish too, but I didn't like that it was NOT impromptu. I felt the trailers misrepresented that. I ended up coming up with my own handling that is completely impromptu that included a display of the ring dangling off of a "single" strand, pulling it off that strand, melting it back on the strand, and then very cleanly plucking it off the single strand to be handed out for examination which leaves an audience open-mouthed. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/user/vincentized#p/a/u/5/os6hz_L0Ydk - No - This full routine has never been released, but it's roots can be found in my FLRT Manuscript.
