Hi Guys,
the other day I found this vid of someone doing reset. At first I thought it was brilliant but the I started to feel the displays are weak. It feels like a magician fooler more than a spectator fooler. Please check it out and tell me what you think : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z20glcloh5u Also, if you could suggest a version of reset that spectators will find impressive. Regards Mac |

The video is no longer available. Personally I like the Larry Jennings version, especially the "Well Oiled Reset" which can be found in The Classic Magic of Larry Jennings.
I hope I'm talking about the same thing you are. Respectfully, Phil |

Worked great and I'm glad I saw it. Very nice, I think effects like that play very well with no patter. There are a couple of small moves in there that make me (a spectator) wonder what he doing but nothing big and not enough to take away from the routine, and as you mentioned it was probably just a "magician fooler".
The very last display sells the whole thing, at least for me and it looks like something worthy of some practice time. Thanks. P. |

Very competent, but for me the "discrepancies" were very noticeable, and the effect was kind of muddy. It was a kind of semi-reset.

The effect is very weak. The counting is absurd and unnatural. It completely loses the relaxed handling and compelling structure of the original reset.

Saturday night I will perform Reswindled for the first time in front of an audience during a show, and I really hope they will find it impressive
I will use the Gipsy Deck (an antique looking deck), with a story about a famous gambler of the Far West who used the techniques of thieves and misdirection to steal the cards from the hands of the other players... I will tell you if it works Dave |

Have fun and good luck Dave! I do Reswindled every chance I get and have never had a bad response from my audience!
Looking forward to hearing how it went! MMc |

Jamy Ian Smith had a great version of reset in Genii in the mid 70s.
I also like David Harkeys version in Simply Harkey. the Jim Swain one is also worth looking at. :) |
