Howdy ya?
Been reading a lot of stuff here lately. There are numerous topics, and likewise countless classifications of subject matters. I thought I'd have to give a legitimate apology for not having read this introduction board prior to everything I've done. I owe you guys. As a kid, I've always been fascinated by the idea of telekinesis. This is what hooked me up to magic. You see, when I saw this guy on TV doing some levitation of a card to some random guy in the street, I was like "Oh my God! What the hell is he doing?!? What the eff??" and I was so totally impressed. Yes, that man is named David Blaine. It really shows -- my teenage immaturity that is. When I was a teenager, I was the impressionable type. I would always be amazed at things that were deemed out of the ordinary. Back then, I had classified the word 'magic' as something to do with guys in formal attire pulling out rabbits out of hats, and to me that was like the most common thing I see on all magic shows I've ever watched as a kid. My parents introduced me to the idea of the camera trick and ever since then, I had always thought that these stage people really are full of gothic extravagant machines that help them work out the effects they present on screen. Gothique. Which is mainly why I was so impressed with David Blaine's first performance I saw on television. To this day, I still cherish the strange feeling I had the first time I witnessed street-catered magic coz to me, it felt like what the modern Japanese animated effects were brought to life. It was really spooky. I love mentalism and mnemonics, card flourishing, and card collecting, but I mostly perform visual card magic. I've been into this hobby for like six years now and I found this forum through one of the many magician friends I met in my long journey of magic, Alel. My name is Jean Mitchell and I do wish a great day to everyone.
