I was curious as to the reliability of News Flash during the restoration. First let me say that I do not own the trick or know the method. I'm not asking for anyone to tip the secret. Some of the other T&R Newspapers have occasional issues during the restore, resulting in a "mess" in front of you on the floor.
I thought I would ask before I shell out the $$$ for something that will end up on a shelf. Thanks guys.

Are you speaking of Axel Hecklau's Torn & restored newspaper 'Newsflash'? If you do a search you will find a string on this paper, most who purchased it love it. If you follow the instructions you should not have any problems with the restore. It is very much like the other popular restoration on the market, but you have to do 3 tears of the newspaper with this model.
If you are having problems with the mess on the floor, then you should go back and see what you are doing incorrectly in your current version. Instructions must be followed as written or instructed or mishaps will happen. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=31 http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=109 http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=8#0 |

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the info. I have read the threads before but was just curious. While I have heard of problems with other versions, the problem I had was with the No Tear (twice out of umpteen performances). It was recommended that I replace/improve the gimmick. That's fine, I can do that. I was just wanting to move to a version that actually tears the newspaper before the restore. I'll do more research and see what I come up with.

The version you are inquiring about is the same principle, as the one you are have problems with currently. Hope this helps.

I have played with pretty much all the variations of torn newspapers... and I have yet to find one I like better than Gene Andersons. yes its a little more prep work but it is bullet proof and so darn clean.
Hecklaus News Flash would be my next favorite...
