Hi Angelo / all,
I like the effect of mini-morphosis a whole lot, but was wondering if there is any way to minimize the "noise" created so that I may perform it more often in the company of friends and colleagues without them asking questions or second guessing the mechanism. Without giving anything away, I am tempted to do some DIY along the contact edges (perhaps applying a thin layer of tape(?) but is afraid I may unknowingly make a mess of it. Any suggestions or help is appreciated. Thanks for looking. |

Hello!
The only way to cover the noise is I get my friends or spectators to do a drum roll on the table I am performing the trick on with their fingers to build up the suspense and also maske the noise of plastic hitting plastic. Best wishes, Angelo

Hi Angelo
Thanks for responding. Will take up your suggestion, and will meantime try some other ways to mask the noise. I'll post up here if successful! Cheers, |

How about having everybody count down from 3, then have them yell something like ,
3,,,,2,,,,1,,,,CHANGE. Have them practice once to build the suspense? But I also love the idea of the drum roll. |

Do you people know where it can be purchased? Or is it discontinued?

Alas it has been discontinued but if you search hard enough on the net you may find one.
Good luck!

Goldeneye007, if you live in Europe I know a second-hand magic shop that sells one for 30 EURO (43 USD). The shop owner does not sent packages outside of Europe.
I can always get it for you and sent it, but you will have to pay 2 x shipping cost of course ... . Sent me a personal message when interested. |

Thanks for your help gentlemen! I got a PM from a member who also pointed out a seller to me! I made my purchase of course since I pretty much like the idea of a grand illusion done close up.
Thanks again! |

I perform the trick a little differently which takes care of the noise issue. I came up with this mostly because the red ball that came with the trick was not made well and you could see that there was something more to the ball.
Here's How I Perform the Trick: I place the black ball in the box and on top I place a Johnson Silver/Copper/Brass transposition with the US half dollar facing up. The Johnson coins are a loose fit not a tight fit like a Scotch and Soda. When the trick is performed, two pieces of the coin crash into the box and cover any other noise. When the audience sees the ball on top they are surprised, when I open the box, they do not see the US Half Dollar, but the Mexican Centavo and the Chinese coin with the hole in it. I say "not only did the ball switch places with the coin, but the coin has changed to two foreign coins." The hole in the chinese coin really throws them for a loop. There is so much that happens, I don't think they even think about the box. The Johnson Silver/Copper/Brass transposition is not an inexpensive item, but it is another great trick which I already had. Another thing I did to improve the trick was replace the large magnet with plastic holder with a small, thin neodymium magnet. It is stronger and less bulky. I use double stick tape to attach it to the curtain. |

Only 8 posts and already such great contribution ... keep those ideas coming Azzam !
I have a thin magnet around here somewhere and will try it. I find your idea to use gimmicked coins with Mini Morphosis absolutely fantastic - two tricks in one and the noise is 'normal' ... ! I also have a Copper/Brass/Silver but with a Mexican Centavo instead of the Chinese coin ... bad quality I may add (the set was from Tango). However I could perhaps use shells from my Hopping Halves. Like you said, the hole in the Chinese coin is great for spectators though. I really should buy a decent EURO-version of one of these sets because laymen always find the foreign currency suspicious. Anyone can give personal advise about GOOD QUALITY Euro-shells/gimmicks? |

Mmmm....I thinking that mixing a transposition effect with a change effect could decrease the effectiveness of the transposition itself.......I mean waht if say "I will transport myself from this trunk to this other trunk".....an after the performance we found a complete different guy in the destination trunk....I don't think that espectator would be very surprised If I say....OK I change myself for another person....as an spectator I would think OK that means you wasn't able to transpose yourself to the trunk......
That's why in the routine proposed by The Amazing Azzam I would preffer to use a normal signed coin. Great idea with the Mystery China Box by the way! |

One of the tenyo guys showed me a routine involving dice. The lid was set to 'go' but to prevent it from doing it's thing, it was held steady by the forefinger. Next a die was placed slightly off centre on the lid and a large glass was placed over the die - mouth downwards. The edge of the glass now took over the position of the forefinger to prevent the lid doing it's thing. You could let go of everything and all that was seen is a die on the box, covered with a glass. Now the front of the glass was covered briefly with the fingers of both hands and the glass was shifted slightly to the side - allowing the lid to do its thing. The die was heard to drop and when the fingers were removed from the glass, it was seen to be empty. Die penetration. Glass removed, lid removed, die inside. Note: the glass needs to be wide and big enough to allow clearance for the lid to do it's thing within the glass.

Nice food for thought on using coins to mask the noise...but I agree I think I would work on maybe a signed coin penetration along with the ball transpo.

Nice idea with the coins.
Curious, what would be a fair rice to ask for an unsigned one? Thanks |

Funny, sorry about the typo (rice should have been price) - I do have some rice bowls that I want to part with as well . Was just curious (signed v. unsigned editions), if it was a million (as in the video), that would be nice - could actually then pay off some bills with the multitude of magic that I have stored away.

what would be a fair price to ask for an unsigned one? Ok, seriously, it would, of course, depend on the condition (especially used vs BNIP), but it's hard to gauge the selling worth right now because the creator, Angelo Carbone, has been selling his stash of them on eBay signed, which has been skewing the price to the stratosphere (the one there now is at $310+). On the other hand, a used, unsigned one sold last month on the UK eBay for around $60. If you sold yours on eBay with worldwide shipping, I'd expect you'd make $100 - $130. |

Question on Mini Morph.
I don't use my red ball because it is obvious that there is more to it than a simple ball. Did I get a bad red ball or are they all like that? Thanks AA |
