So apparently a number of the Black Friday ads have been "leaked" onto the internet and many of my friends and family have begun drawing their battle plans.
What about ya'll? Anything you're gunning for Friday? What about a FABULOUS $300 laptop? How about one of the crazy cheap 50" flat panel HDTV's? Got a hot source for Zhu Zhu's so you can try to make some mad cash on eBay? I know a guy who was heading out to Best Buy to try and start camping out tonight... Are any of you surfing the Café from a smartphone in the Best Buy parking lot? |

Seriously? I'm guessing you don't live in the states...
Our Thanksgiving is this Thursday. The day after (Friday) is the first shopping day of Christmas. All the stores open early. As in like 5-6AM. The first people through the door get to take advantage of "Doorbuster Specials". People often start lining up the night before for these... It's called "Black Friday" for numerous reasons, chief among them because many businesses are made or broken in this one day. People mob the stores like there won't be crap to buy on Saturday. Every year at least one person gets trampled and numerous fights break out. Seriously... It's like the definition of what it means to be an American... |

Our holiday shopping begins after Halloween. And since I don't buy Christmas gifts (don't celebrate Christmas), I've never really paid attention to sales flyers.
So, yep I was a little clueless to this lol I did live part time in Orlando many moons ago, but was never there until after Dec 15. Never got to exeperience this madness. |

Bill, lucky you! Its really a joke here. People camping out overnight to save $100 off a "gadget" Overnight, 8-10 hours for $100 savings then driving home in traffic? $100 savings? Obnoxious people, loud, possible arguments, fights, did I mention $100 savings? I will never get this. By far I too would like to save $100. Just not this was as my time is more valuable and important to me then spending it in this type of environment where the $100 savings is worth more than human compassion.Let me see, get that television before its sold out or pick up that worker dying on the floor...oh the decisions.

On a more serious note, I just realized this should have been in the "Not Very Magical... Still" forum. I totally put this in the wrong place. My bad! |
