I am from Dallas and really searching for a teacher. I am studying books and learning tricks and still hoping to find a master to take me under his wing and teach me, as face to face is a lot easier for me than books.
I know this is a huge long stretch, but learning magic and busking to make my living is what I feel like I need to do with my life. I am even willing to move to get the right magic/street education. Thanks in advance and hope this post isn't coming off as needy or forward. Have a Happy Thanksgiving Matt |

Associate with other buskers - search out the masters such as Gazzo, Kozmo, Bobby Mavrick, and others... watch them over and over.
Take trips to busking areas and watch and learn... talk to them. You might want to consider spending some time in New Orleans. Do you have kozmos Tales from the Street DVD? if not ... get it. Same with the works of Cellini. Get it all. (Rest in peace Jim) Jimmytalksalot has a book out as well that is good. But above all - get out and busk... hang out with other buskers. Get to know the guys I mentioned above.

Take theater at a local junior college. Get the widest education possible in subjects that will expand your ability to work as a performer: Speech, dance, movement, drama, juggling, vent, etc.
Best,

Thanks yall.... I do have Jimmies book and love it. Will definately look into Kozmo's DVD. I know I need to get out and busk, right now I am still trying to learn some basics before getting to that point. Will definately focus on getting to some Busking areas and seeing some stuff live.
Thanks again, Matt |
