Those of a certain generation probably have a soft spot for the Alan Parsons Project. They haven't aged well (IMO) but they were an important part of the music scene in the late 70s-early 80s.
Eric Woolfson, who wrote or co-wrote a number of the tunes, and played on the albums died today. RIP Eric Eric Woolfson

I was forced to bury an APP album in the back yard because my girlfriend at the time was hooked on one of the songs and played it incessantly.
They were never as big here(AU) as they were in the states. Didn't know he'd engineered so many good records...
