Hi All,
Today I've seen during a magic show a very simple but effective trick the magician shows a bottle (you know the bottle of milk?) and put a silk inside, he closes the bottle with a metallic stopper. (I was very close and would tend to exclude the use of a reel).

Then he shakes the bottle and visibly the silk disappears: very visual and effective.

Any hint?

I will say it sounds like a version of the chimney glass vanish from Neil's 'The Modern Conjurer' book. I believe Al Baker had a version of this as well.

Sure sounds like the "lamp chiminey vanish." hard to beat. Especially Roy Benson's handling.

Silk vanishes from Lamp. In olds before I was even born and many others, there was no electricity, there was candles and later natural gas when it was discovered as a souce of light at night. A glass tube was placed over the flame to prevent fires and crate a glow to the light produced. This glass tube was called a chimney.
