Yep, I'm forever reading that TTA is the 'ultimate' card trick, (John Bannon says if he were to perform only one - theat would be it!) but I've always only ever thought, "Oh that's nice..." instead of "What the....?!!" The Voller version is much more exciting - for want of a better word. |

Hi all,
I can say that Roger here made a very good point about the Richard Vollmer's French Twist ! I LOVE this routine also, it's really a huge enhancement form the classical TTA. I takes some work to get it, but once this is done you have a real stunner for a lifetime, at least I have for sure ! Check Aldo Colombini's DVD to find it, I think you won't regret it ;-)

My favourite was always Roy Waltons' Rainbow Cascade, which was also the very first trick that I got down to some serious learning with. I bought it from Davenports, in London, and used to take it away with me on my trips as a UK regional pilot. I had grown pretty used to wowing people with this and, with the swagger of youth and my first airline command behind me, thought that I knew it all...Now we used to lay-over in Glasgow quite a lot but my company was never one to pay much in allowances so I had to be quite frugal with my breakfast; now I discovered a bit of a dive of a Café but which was cheap so I hung out there for years. Now I did notice that it was opposite a joke-shop on Queen Street called Tam Shepherds. I kept meaning to go in there one day but, year upon year, never quite got around to it...finally, one afternoon, I entered the premises, unsure of what to find but pleased to note that they appeared to have a little magic at the back of the shop. I got to talking to a Scottish lady called Jean, who ran the shop and mentioned my interest in magic. She started showing me her stock and I spied 'Rainbow Cascade'. " I've got that you know, I said", rather pleased with mysef..."it's very good you know..." "I know," said Jean..." My husband invented it...you might have heard of him....Roy Walton..." "Roy who?" says I, oblivious to who this fellow might actually be (!!). " Oh Roy Walton; he's in all of the literature. You will have read about him somewhere. He got a lovely award for Card Warp..."
When I got home, sure enough, the name came up quite a few times......! I went back and finally met The great man himself! Boy, was I embarrassed! Still, we chatted rather a lot over the years and, eventually, Roy set me off on a quest, unwittingly, that was to become 'Up The Ante'! (And I still enjoy Rainbow Cascade BTW!)
Have you tried 'Up The Ante' yet?? The ultimate gambling demo....a self-working wonder! See the reviews here on the cafe.

All the Best, Andrew Any more favorites out there? |
