Danik,
How many effects do you have in your working repertoire? Can you really perform dozens and dozens of different effects well? Or are the myriad of tricks you list ones you've read through and think might work well for you? |

If anyone has the Shenanigan card packet and not too attached I would love to buy them. They are no longer produced although he has hinted they may come back sometime in the future.

Are we limited to card effects?
I like his award winning C&Bs where he keeps two ahead so much that I would put it as N°1 ... and possibly his multicolor ball C&Bs based on an improved Leo Leslie's routine as N°2 I went many interesting advanced roads only to discover that Aldo had been there before.

I like very much his Firework routine (available on DVD) where something like 10 cards are picked by spectators and revealed in spectacular ways.
Aldo combines very very well great magic and superb sense of humor. |

WOW 200 effects in a performing repertoire!!! I KNEW I should not have read Devant's ... oh, nevermind.
Anyhow, As I sit here shuffling coins and shuttle passing cards, I am thinking about the impossibility of this post. Paisano Colombini's output of effects is TRULY staggering. Don't get me wrong, this is a fun post, but, he has put out SO much stuff as Aldo and as "Fabian" that a compilation of Aldo's stuff could ALMOST be Jamesian in size. I DO have to say that one that I perform regularly is "Italian Serenade" which for Apocalypse junkies can be found in the ominous, monolithic, and rather fragrant "black" volume. I believe Lawrence mentioned Aldo's C&B routine. Che bella!! Also, his treatise written by Ganson on Two in the Hand One in the Pocket is crammed full of gooey gallimaufery (or is that gallifaummery? I need Jon Racherbaumer here I think!). The tricky bit is that I cannot think of any publication at least magazine wise post Aldo's birth where he HASN'T contributed. And oh how I MISS his Linking Ring column!! I almost cancelled my IBM membership when Aldo's column went away - THAT is how much of a fan I am of his. So, I am glad to have Italian Serenade to the list. Lawrence knows about as well, having included it in his invaluable ace assembly list elsewhere here on The Workers section. Italian Serenade has a BEAUTIFUL kicker and the routine itself is an absolute JOY to perform. Ciao (as I ride away on my Vespa with a nice gelato) Vlad |

I agree with Vinny, his rope work is fantastic but I love his card tricks too.
Have a look at "Nice Salad" a beautiful oil & water routine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW7GKhqtexo This is in Aldo"s "What"s up Deck" book. I really like his 2 "True Magic" dvd"s shot in Hong Kong. |

My favorite Colombini effects are the Cups & Balls (this was the basis for my technicolor routine, which can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a03x6hgFAws ), Italian Serenade, his work on the Ring & Rope, and An Italian In Las Vegas.

1. Nice Salad (What's Up Deck and Packet Trick Treasures)
2. Italian Dressing (What's Up Deck) 3. Ghost Flight (Packet Trick Picks - actually a Peter Duffie routine) 4. Cups and Balls (I use a few things such as the can-can move from his FISM routine) 5. Nines Forever (Packet Trick Treasures) Here is a trick I created based on Nice Salad called Zombies versus Teenagers. Nice Salad is an awesome trick but I thought the ending needed something more interesting. Hopefully the ending is an improvement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTziHn6uLms
