I'd been PM'ing Mark with many questions over the last week about Tin Opener. Since I use a tin ( which can't be shown empty ) I was open to changing, but not if it didn't improve on what I was doing. So he sent me a Tin Opener to look at.
The good news for me is that the box is the same size as what I use and it does in fact improve on what I was doing. The box has a card in it, you do the move and it's empty. You can't hand the box out. But after years of using a mint box that I couldn't show empty ( 'cause they would see the folded card in it;-) not once did anyone ask to see the tin. For about six months I use to carry two tins, one empty, just in case someone asked. It never happened. So why use Tin Opener? Because I think it adds an extra punch to it. I know I can't measure that, but it feels stronger. I don't use the coin in the tin that has been mentioned. I put an actual wrapped mint/candy in the tin. This holds the gimmick in place and when I dump out the candy, the gimmick engages and the box can be shown empty. I think this is stronger than a coin. It's a mint tin, so it has a mint in it. Mints come in all sizes from Tic Tacs to ones I use that are the size of a thick nickel wrapped in plastic (and larger ). My girl knows the card in tin I use. So...I did this for her. She just stared at the open box and then asked me if I actually put the card in the box. She knows it and was fooled. FANTASTIC! Chris

I spoke to Iain Moran about this as he has been using a prototype for a while now and this is the first item on my list of purchases for Blackpool next week.

Hi Guys,
I will find out what the problem is, it works on my mac using safari, but it shouldnt be an issue ? The price will be £29.99 For Tin Opener with Dvd I will upload the video for you guys to view. The websites will be updated very shortly with a button to purchase the effect. I didn't want to offer pre-orders as I don't believe in this method. Best Wishes Mark |

Yesterday I used Tin Opener at The Olive Garden. I went to pick up to go food for a family lunch get together at the park ( I grew up in the Bronx, so I wasn't eating this stuff ). You order at the bar and it takes about 30 minutes.
So I order a beer and take out my cards like a geek and start playing with them. The bartender says "we're in trouble now, he's got his cards. Show me a trick". I find people always think you know tricks. Maybe that's because most people know at least one card trick that an uncle or such showed them. I think you should always perform when you're out. I know some don't, but I've always done it. Anyway, I did my standard routine with the mint tin, but used Mark's Tin Opener. I can't say that it was any different than when I used my mint tin that I had to ditch, but I loved that I could dump the card and put the tin down empty. It just feels better. The same way I loved that I could leave Kennedy's Mystery Box out. Tin Opener can't be examined, but I never had anyone want to look at the Mystery Box either. It just feels good to leave the prop out. Hide in plain site so to speak. When he took the card from my hand, I just dropped the candy back into Tin Opener and placed it on the bar. That's when I would usually ditch the tin. Not anymore. I've fallen in love with Tin Opener! Chris
