Amira there are many on this site who are against zapping (I am one of them who is also against it simply because that specific technique is not as safe as others).
Others here are against you learning on your own without a mentor and still others say that dvds are no better and are the devil as well because that they allow too many people to learn hypnosis and how to use it and it ruins the market. Bull the market is there you just have to look. In answer to your question would the person sing? I doubt it but it would depend on the person and how confident you were at what you were doing, you should already know that hypnosis is not sleep and in hypnosis a person is fully aware they just don't care about what is going on. Have a good night Jesse |

Hi Jesse!
Zap its a way to say hypnotize someone... I don't use the ZAP approach to hypnotize for me its too violent I use rapid inductions and a lot of the RIP and TMA ;D thanks

I am in the Zap is unsafe camp.
I think that when people learn on their own, by NECESSITY they tend to be pretty creative. That can be nothing but good for all of us. To be a bit more vociverous about my answer. Would someone sing? Doubtful. Reason being that it is always easier to take people where they think they are going to go. While people may expect to sleep, or simulate sleep, they certainly don't expect to sing just straight out. LOTS of things go into the answer though.

I still don’t get what is the difference between ZAP and any other abrupt interrupt techniques, besides the fact that zap is very violent.
I’ve watched the ZAP video and to me is just a very violent pattern interrupt that catches the volunteer unexpecting what is going to happen. So could anyone explain to me the difference between ZAP and a good handshake induction please ??????? Thanks, Giovanni. |

Is violence not enough for you? Does it need MORE wrong with it?

Hi Danny;
Obviously It is enough, and I´m not planning on using it! My point is that is the same principle as any pattern interrupt but applied in an improper way. I was asking my question because the ads I´ve seen about ZAP claim that it is powerful, easy and new! But hypnotist have been doing that in a gentle way for years. Therefore, there is nothing new or special about ZAP. Giovanni. |

I understand what everyone is saying, however, I do believe, that zapping, in all fairness to Amira, is now recognised as more of a rapid induction as opposed to an instant 'hard' induction.

Recognized? By whom? The Worldwide Association of Zappers?

In his promotional material he snaps at how incompetent other hypnotists are who take a long time with inductions while he instantly hypnotizes people. He has a tendency to include pre-talk setup when timing others but omits his own in the timing of his inductions. However, he does have a pre-talk and it's pretty much the same as everyone else who does speed techniques. All the best, Brian

Richard Nongard has a fantastic DVD called "Speedtrance" which covers this sort of thing quite well with him doing some actual examples of inductions. He makes no outrageous claims about it, instead it is what it is.
