Hey guys,
I've hit the creative wall on the routine for this one.... The idea I've had is being a passenger on an airplane kind of routine. Hold up a flight safety card in front of my face and a bag of peanuts appear in my mouth, a safety mask floats ala zombie gimmick, but I'm noyt sure what else will do, and can be seen in a crowd of say 250 people....any input? |

Could you make a Temple Screen into a menu or airline magazine and produce the small liquor bottles that they have on airplanes appear? A miniature suitcase explaining this is all they let you carry on these days.
How about some of the different kinds of food they serve (or at least used to)from the same menu? Perhaps showing the difference between first class and coach by producing different items for a comedy touch. Just random ramblings...good luck! Jef

I have an e-Book called "Tiny Bottles" in The Wizards' Journal #9 on my site which might lend itself to an airline approach.
An escape from an airline seat (and seat belt straps) might be funny.

You should get one of those production briefcases (unsure of exact title) where you can pull stuff out of it that seemingly don't fit. Walk onto stage with one. Also maybe a bottle production or some production with a drink.

I was thinking of doing this to music. I sit down, have a suticase next to me (with the load items), and using a handz up type of gimmick.....
Thanks Rock, and Spell Binder! |

Floating cushion?
Magazine roll production? Tiny bottle to Large bottle (for nervous flyers)? Something to entertain the kid in the seat in front of you? Center torn and restored fold over pamphlet (the one where a diamond shape is torn out, I don't know the name.) I like rockthemike's production briefcase idea since they charge extra for more bags. -Mary Mowder |

Your load items (to produce) could be luxury items the other passengers don't have. Start out normal (drink, newspaper, etc.) then get goofy... helmet with drik holders, big fancy-looking cocktail with umbrella, blanket, pillow, teddy bear.
Or you could do a chair levitation... "Are we getting too high?" |

If you're doing it to music, then the production brief case could make a fun pantomine.
Have a frame set up like the metal detector that you walk through at the airport. Every time you walk through it, you set off an alarm or a spinning light. Back up and take an item out of your briefcase. Repeat until you have produced an impossible amount of items from your briefcase and then walk through and continue off the stage. I wouldn't worry about the fact that you actually carry a brief case through the metal detectors. |

Either Don Alan or Karrell Fox had a great card trick with one of the upchuck bags... you did a stab thru the bag to find the card.
Old joke put veg soup in bag and pretend to vomit... then ask stew to take bag, but then you decide to DRINK IT... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Love the metal detector idea.
A quick change of airline ties, A smoking routine were your try not to smoke but there always a smoke on the go. Have a giant pass port and hold it over your face bring it down and you have changed some how do this a few times. Produce lots of clocks with different time zones on them. There are a few tricks that came to mind but more close up. But I have listed them as they may jog something in the brain storm. Wayne Dodson trick Gin and Tonic. It may be to small but have a look. http://www.fiveofheartsmagic.co.uk/index......uctId=96 Also randyburtis mentioned alka selter , Sanky has a great trick its kind of a torn and restored trick. Hope this helps.
Enjoy your magic,
and let others enjoy it as well! |
