Are Masonic lodges a good venue for a pretty clean stand up comedy magic act? I just had one handed over to me by another magician...they were having a Christmas thing for the kids. I am making a list and adding it to my Tap List
Do you know what type of events they usually have??? charles |

I just did a magic show for a Masonic Lodge. They were providing a Christmas dinner, presents, Santa, and and my show for poor families and kids who otherwise may not have much of a Christmas. I would think that most Masonic events would be a community outreach. Most of these families would definitely enjoy getting to see live stand up comedy and magic. For me, it was very rewarding and got me in the holiday spirit.

I work with one of the Masonic children's homes in this area - an absolutely beautiful campus, marvelous staff and great children! Masonic outreach events are generally no different than Civitan or Jaycee events.

I have done two shows at a masonic lodge. I love those gigs.

At a masonic lodge banquet everybody comes in a tux.

Thanks guys! Especially nice to know the dress code for their banquets. I have a list of 148 for the state of WV and plan to mail them postcards. I am in the process of creating tap list, and will be mailing out to them while I am on the road with the circus.

That tux business varies from state to state. Each Grand lodge has its own customs. In Texas you almost never see a tux in a masonic lodge.

In Pennsylvania they have one annual banquet that is both couples and formal.
