I am thinking to buy one holdout for my own collection, any idea where I can buy 1? |

If you find one, they're very expensive.
James Riser has or had I should say, a holdout device. I'm not sure if he still makes them, cause the link is gone from his website. I think you can find a few on eBay as well. They appear from time to time. I also found this: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/6686286 pretty cool link actually, there's a Dai Vernon prop case which is full of stuff he used to own. Nope, no idea at all where you can buy "1".
(Notice that I put about as much effort into my answer as you put into your question, which is even less effort than you put into your search for the hold-outs that are available). |

Hi Impromptuboy, thank you for your info. I never know that Riser made holdout too! all I know is he makes so very nice peggers. The website is very useful to me, thanks again.

Depends what type you want....for example a non-gambler ... but nice holdout is the 'Black Widow'.
But, it is not for use at a card table.....you will spend a lot for arm pressure, Klippenger, etc.

What ever happened with the pneumatic holdout that was in some stage of design a couple years ago? Anybody recall such a system being discussed?

Lol.
You won't be shot using that crap during an actual game. They'll just put your picture in the walls just to be sure everyone can be aware who the most stupid guy of the universe is... |

You can't use it as is but it may have potential with a couple of modifications. I would like to play around with the possibility of using it as a built in the table hold out.............Ron

Nice point Ron. I mean, one of the best ideas about holdout, IMHO, are when they are concealed in the tables. Nice ones are on SF material or in the Annotated Erdnase for instance.

As long as the load card doesn't require pre-placement, there is potential for a nice table hold-out.
You'd have to be a good "catcher" though, as that card comes out at enough speed to pop up a good couple of feet in the air...........which might tip your mitt Alas, they're out of stock at the moment. |
