Last night I let someone try the jacket after the show. What I didn't know was, they were on the internet getting info while I was on stage.... and even though the guy had TWO friends force his arm over his head, he was happy that he "escaped".
My new policy is to put someone in the jacket just prior to the escape..... and that's it. I'm ALSO going to be careful to NOT call any tricks by their real names or someone can "do a search" on the modus operandi.... while you're performing.

I planted a dead phone on a helper once. The plant was in the audience, halfway through my act I would "notice" the offending audience member "talking loudly" whilst performing. I then confiscated the phone, placed it on the stage floor and used my 55 pound anvil lift to crush the phone. Got a remarkable response from the crowd.
Now what YOU are reporting is a serious problem, because stunts are not tricks and too much information on how things are done can have serious ramifications when people get home and attempt things on their own. Of course some stunts are less dangerous than others, but any amount of danger is something to be dealt with by experienced professionals. On Cash Cab, if anyone pulls out a cell phone during their ride/show, they are immediately kicked out. Of course no one gets to see those episodes!
