Crazy Cuffs. Go to the post office and ask for two rubber bands (they'll give them to you for free). Great crowd reaction and costs nothing

Quantum Bender 2. Very inexpensive for the reactions it gets!

I reckon Starcle by Dan Harlan. All you need is a serviette for one heck of a trick...I mean effect.

NFW. For me, one of the greatest packet tricks ever and the most aptly named.

If I were to name one trick I could do, it would be, hands-down, CMH. It's so ridiculously cheap, easy, visual & portable and gets the most consistent "WTF?" reactions of any trick I've done.
"I Hate David Copperfield" is a very, very close second. Those are my two go-to's when I'm put on the spot to "do something". |

The magical block--The red square placed over a penny in a spectator's hand changes into a dime. Money magic that happens in the spectator's hand is always strong! In my handling, the spectator closes her hand over the penny and the penny disappears while she's holding "it."

Agree with Card Warp, for $1.30 you can perform it 26 times!!!... and Invisible Deck... I always loved that one and you can get it for around $5.00 or you can make it yourself for less.

I echo that last comment. Not only is one wallet great value but you actually get two - and they are so versatile.
