Hey guys,
I've seen a few people do this, particularly gambling experts out there like Steve Forte, Damian Nieman, and others. Basically, after they shuffle, instead of taking the deck and placing it in their hand to deal, they kind of tilt the deck upwards to get the deck ready for the dealing position. Anyone know what that move is called?

Where they tap the table with the deck to square it? It's called "The Tap" it's credited to marlo. Tho' AMcD read it in a french book from 1729

I think the tapping move goes as far back as when the game is played..... I think tapping is natural for straightening out the cards that's just been mixed...

Kevin and Kimura, you both are wrong. I've tracked down this move in a prehistoric cave wall painting. As far as I know, the game was dinosaur ante but my knowledge of the language they used by that time is very poor then I've got no idea about the name of the move. Iamslow has the exact name used nowadays.

I should mention that Marlo published about 27 version of it and it took 3 years to Vandy to do it undetectably.

This forum is fantastic. Such important problems to be solved.

HNY2K10 to all of you by the way.
