One of the main problems that most people have when learning the CP, is gripping the object to tight. This causes tension in the hands giving an unatural look to the supposedly empty hand. Try to lighten the grip, keeping the hand as relaxed as possible.

Another thing that many people do is in the action of going from fingertip rest to palm they PRESS the object into the palm way to hard and make a strange gyration with their thumb as they grip the object. Watch out for these two aspects and you'll do fine.

Don't forget that the CP includes getting the object into CP position and retreiving the object from CP position, not just the act of holding it there.
