I've cropped a picture of myself and want to set it up as an avatar. According to my computer, it's 8 Kb... your system keeps telling me it's too big even though I'm supposed to be able to go to 15 Kb. What am I doing wrong?

Avatars are limited to 100x100 pixels too - is it larger than that? Is it the right type(.jpg or .gif)?
Somebody kick me off the computer, will ya?

As you can see, I finally got it right. In fact it [was] larger than 100mb and when I reduced it further, it finally worked.
Thanks.
