Mark, I was just wondering what kinds of things you would be carrying with you or ideas you might have on doing an impromptu mental effect on the spur of the moment?
What is your favourite way of dealing with this situation?

My effect 'Sort-Of Numerology' can be done anywhere at any time and under virtually any circumstances (even over the phone or on the radio, I even did via instant message chat one time and it worked perfectly!). I virtually always have my Sight Unseen Case with me and can do any number of things with it and a slip of paper or business card. There are lots of examples in the literature of material that can be done with either nothing at all, or something that can be easily borrowed and improvised on the spot. The above two examples are my personal faves. Any other takers out there??? Mark

For a truly impromptu mental routine - that is, a situation where you do not have the luxury of having ANY props with you - it is hard to beat Max Maven's utilization of the principle of equivoque.
To get a routine that utilizes the principle of equivoque to the point where it looks 'real' - in other words, uncontrived - takes a lot of practice. One must be smooth, completely comfortable and confident in it's application in order for equivoque to be effective... but, it is well worth the investment of time and effort necessary to master! Equivoque IS simple, but it is NOT 'easy' to perform well. It truly is, in my mind, anyway, one of the few 'mental' miracles that can be performed in a bathing suit... if that situation were ever to arise! And for the sake of my audiences - and my dignity - I hope THAT situation never happens!

In response to Mark, I have read Almost Numerology and listened to the very useful tape you include with the book on that effect.
I've already started using it over the phone as suggested and got a direct hit on my first attempt, even though my particpant chose a single number date, against the odds. I like it. The more I read Mobile Mentalism, the better I like it. re: your running out of SUC's, I knew I should have ordered one when I had the chance. You'll have to put me on your list for a black one when they come back into stock.

AS far as the SUC goes, I wore my first one out from so much use and am wearing out the second one. So jump on them when they come in.
