Howdy All,
Long-time lurker, first time poster! I live in the West Midlands of England, and have been studying card magic seriously for about 10 years now. My two biggest infuences are Roberto Giobbi (Card College - what a godsend!) and the impeccable ouvre of Darwin Ortiz. I mainly perform for friends and family at parties, birthdays weddings etc. I am a firm believer in book learning. I just find it too difficult to learn from DVD's as I appear to need three hands to do this (two for the deck, one for the DVD remote). I'm not much of a collector, my card magic library consists of about 10 books (Card College 1-5, everything printed my Darwin Ortiz). I just prefer to practice and polish the tricks that I know, rather than learning another 200 variations of a 4-Ace assembly. That's all for now, see you on the boards! |

Welcome to the Café Ade2010,
Although ,I guess you've been here a while. I prefer DVDs myself but I have enjoyed the book route on occasion when the writing is good. I spend some time choosing my favorite version of an effect and learn that one (till I see a clear reason to change). Saves time in the long run. It is more fun here when you find your "voice" . - Mary Mowder |
