Photo of a captured one. http://fw.ky.gov/pdf/newsletter1107.pdf (scroll down to bottom).

I think his father fronted a band in Jabba's palace.

The Texas chup was found near where I live...now that I think about it I can't find mine:-). I was feeding it fresh goats...don't know why it ran away.

It could be because of a story that was on the TV news in Dallas yesterday. Apparently there are herds of feral hogs living in Dallas. Perhaps my chup got tired of goat and wanted ham.

The local animal people have said it is some kind of raccoon. Well, chups and raccoons could be related.

Nah, chups are very large ground-dwelling vampire bats.

If nothing was wrong with it why did they kill it? I assume they killed it, how else would they be looking at it's internal organs and doing toxicology? Humans, if we don't understand something lets kill it. Cool link though. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I guess they figured hairless = "something wrong with it" and they wanted to know what and if it was a danger to other animals. Unfortunate, tho.

You could just shave one. I hear they enjoy that.

I believe they found it dead by a golf course.

I really think they could have done tests on the creature and kept it alive. Reminds me of a recent Dr. visit I had when I wanted an allergy test and instead he sends me to get cameras shoved up and down both ends. Can't we start small and work our way up?
