Kind of. The prop looks fine, and all, but I can barely think of a meanigful presentation of the plot.
Some sort of seánce-ish one, to say that the box captures spirits (hence the floating) but still, spirits should have better things to do than play cards |

I saw a magician perform this at a lecture, and his presentation of the box on the table made perfect sense to me. I won't name that performer because I imagine someone would search out his performance and copy it. That would be sad.
I'm just saying that it has been done. As far as the topic is concerned, I think it would be very difficult to do this in a restaurant and NOT be in the way of the staff. Heck, one of the servers might even try to put a heavy tray of food on top of it...lol. patrick |

Yeah be very careful with table hopping. You can make it work I have no doubt, just be cautious. Even doing stage magic be very warry of who you allow backstage. A friend of mine bought a $1500 custom made table only to have some ignorant stage stage assistant lean on it and totally destroy it. Worst part: Stage hand didn't tell the magician. The magician found out in the middle of his performance.
Just a word of wisdom, be always cautious. |

Ken: I asked the fruitcake lady if you should perform the floating table in a close-up venue, and she replied "What the hell was he thinking?!"

Losander Haunted Box would work better for close up situations. The Floating table I think don't work in this situations because is very exposed to be ***ed.
The Thing would work too! My best, Hansel!

I would not use it for table hopping. It's just too fragile.
