Hi, hope this is in the right area but, I thought this might spark some interest, seeing how he is so popular in some earlier forums (Earlier forum was something like David Copperfield Ripoff), It seems that Blake Alexander got accepted, and will be on the 2010 season of America's Got Talent premiering in June. I found it quite entertaining reading the article and how he is planning on spending the money if he wins. but here it is:
http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local-bea......ent.html I know I'm looking forward to watching it (this might sound bad, but just to laugh, not saying he's bad but I have seen others on the show throughout the audition process), I wonder if he has changed his style since the last time we talked about him, or will he actually go onstage infront of a worldwide audience, and use same patter, dress, music, and overall style as Copperfield? Post what you think. |

I am pretty sure that if AGT is the same.... they will rip on him. I don't mean that disrespectful, it is just that if you do standards in magic, they will go to town on him.......... even greats like Kevin James, and the pendragons. knew to get out, and Kevem james is very unique,,, Our friend Natan Burton, knew to just use it as a publicity ploy to increase ticket sales in his vegas show, But to go on AGT to think it may advance your carreer???????? No stinking way would I take the chance of AGT having their way with me!. beware of AGT not magician friendly

When I write about AGT, I dio not speak as if it is about Blake in this issue, just AGT in general, and how they put spins on Magicians. , I have seen them really tear up or rip on many great magical artist, cruise ship artist, , comedy magicians and many magicians both male and female that have been in the world of magic for years, and some great magicians that are favorites at many magic conventions. I have seen Other magicians really put a spin on agt though, a Florida magician, has actually cut and pasted in clips to make himself look like a champ, by cutting in comments from the judges that were meant for other Talent....LOL,(very creative, I seen them get SLAMMED by the judges, then all of a sudden on youtube you will see them rise as champs??????? any way, for those that are trying to become a million dollar champion, I say go for it if it is your dream. Try youre best to take control( that is if they let you!!!!!! best of luck to you guys, or as they say.... break a leg

After reading the article, it is nice to dream and be asked, but after the post on the last young man who took a shoot, they will just 'eat him up', the judges have no idea of magic, they want to be fooled and not entertained. The Judges think they have seen every trick in the world and come off as know it all.
The British Judge does not like to be fooled if he cannot come up with a logical reason for the effect. The main problem with magic is having several killer effects that warrant constantly being chosen every appearance. As each new effect changes so much of the total performer. Magicians are really in a "Catch 22", if you fool them you are out and if you change anything about your performance you are out. But it is nice to dream. |

All I can see is I've met Blake and he is an interesting young person.Like every teenager out there he represented himself as "knowing it all" ahh to young and invincible. LOL
