As found on The Jugglers' Lounge: "Anthony recently announced that he will be appearing on The Ellen Show this Thursday 2/4. This makes the 3rd or 4th juggler that has been on there in the last month or so. Nice that Ellen's producers are showing so much attention to jugglers and variety performers." Thanks Steve for posting this ... ************************

Anthony won the juniors (under 18) championship at the age of 8, and the adult world championship at the age of 12. He is quite simply the greatest juggler alive.

He's certainly grown up and has really 'GOT IT'... (I still like Viktor Kee and Kris Kremo, tho').

Victor and Kremo are certainly among the greats of our art form. Anthony is simply the best juggler that ever lived, as far as technical ability goes... I think, is what Al is saying. There may be other jugglers that are viewed as perhaps "The Best Performers" or "The Best Artistes" in the viewers eyes. But I contend that like good art, the performance or artistic quality of an act can be seen as purely subjective. However, when it comes to juggling technique, meaning skill level, number of objects and amount of time that they can be juggled, which can be easily measured, then Anthony is simply the best, without question. I do love Victor and Kris and I have to agree that you certainly have good taste in jugglers.
With all due respect, Al aka Steve

Did you know that Gatto in Italian means cat. A very appropriate name for Anthony.

I did know that, Al,
I'm guessing that every child who ever watched the "Cat in the Hat" cartoon as a child would know both the Spanish and French words for Cat and Hat (remember the little song he sings?). Also, while very far from being fluent, I did take Spanish in school. And I do agree with you, Cat is a very appropriate name for Anthony. And I also am very firm in my belief that he is the best juggler of our time. Without a doubt. All you have to do is see him perform one time "Live" and it becomes very apparent. S aka AL

Anthony is the greatest juggler I have ever seen, but I never saw Rastelli. I wear a gold charm of Rastelli around my neck.

Of course me being of Italian ancestory it is very predictable that I would like the juggling of Gatto, Rastelli, and St John Bosco. LOL

AL,
I thought that you were a fellow "Piasan" I am a big fan of the Italian jugglers too. You may have noticed in my last post I wrote Anthony was the best "in our time", with Rastelli being the main motivation for inserting that phrase. Having only seen video of him, he seems to be one of the only ones "in all time" who could have rivaled Gatto's technical skill. And I also just realized after re-reading your post that you said Gatto means cat in "Italian"... I thought I saw "Spanish" (which, of course, is the same in both languages) which is why I responded with a Cat in the Hat reference. Doh!!! I gotta read these posts better. S

You know Steve when I saw those slave girls from the Egyptian tomb doing the Mills Mess I wonder just how many great unknown jugglers there were that nobody was able to document, but then again I have no parties to do today, so I'm day dreaming, and posting.

Course, it wasn't known as "Mills' Mess" back then... it was called the "Mesopotamian mess"...
No juggling/performing gigs for me today either. I am running a spotlight this evening on the opera "Carmen" at the Performing Arts Center. Been wearing my "stagehands" a lot this month as it is a very slow month in the juggling gig dept.
