Does anyone have a video of a performance of the postcards from the road mindreading illusion? Thanks.

I know this is a version of Don Waynes "dream vision" but this seem from the ads to be a very practical way of doing this fine effect.

Sounds interesting. Do you know when it is going to be ready?

Post Card from the road was performed on Master of Illusion.
Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/user/illvsi0ns#p/u/204/7JJEqZVivOY
I don't know how similar they are, but in the most recent book of Gabe Fajuri of magic ( available at borders )http://www.borders.com/online/store/TitleDetail?sku=1594742634 is a very similar approach to the "Prediction Plot"...I think the same of the "Postcard from the road".
I hope this helps,
Hansel!

Hansel,

The one on the video is not postcard from the road but the forerunner of the postcard - the classic version of the envelope prediction.(using an envelope and a chair)
This version is much better than Postcard from the road because the envelope stays in sight the whole time (even when the dirty work is done, which is not the case with post card from the road!)
Like most classics in magic the original version of this effect is hard to beat!

You are right! This version is very clean and doing well ( Matt Marcy do a terrific job here) can be imperceptible! So...No video for "Postcards from the road" ?
Thanks,
Hansel!

Been searching for a video performance for quite some time to no avail and the link above has been taken down. Anybody point me in the right direction?

The method and effect are very similiar to the Master Prediction System. The only difference is the retrevial system Smile I have Postcards from the Road, and it's a great way for somone who wants to do the MPS, but doesn't have nearly the budget.

I've taken a shine recently to the Dream Vision by Don Wayne. However, expense and practicality of it means it's not something I'm going to be jumping on! Heard a lot about PFTR but wondered how well it actually played and how slick the move was.

Postcards is an amazing routine!!!

The move is smooth and practically invisible.

We use it often in our seasonal resort shows and it always gets a great reaction. We changed 2 things from the original routine.

First, we made an adaptable gimmick and always use a chair from the venue and not the wooden folding chair that comes with it.

Next, we junked the tripod hanger it came with (it is junk anyway) and hang the prediction from the ceiling or backdrop or back wall.

I highly recommend Postcards.

Thank you for that. I was wondering about the chair and whether bringing your own would look, well y'know... But then I remembered the Chair Suspension and nobody seems to bother about those chairs being different than the rest of the room. But I like your idea of being able to use a chair from the venue.

Think I'm going to take the plunge later in the year and get my hands on one.

Without saying too much on an open forum, think "duct tape and a magnet." Smile
