Hello there,
I'm a magic player from Taiwan and want to make up a stage routine which uses production of "parakeets" 2-3 times, adding some black art (which David Sousa uses) and some manipulation like cards and balls and a book.

I'm afraid that I use the word wrong, the "parakeets" I mean are:
http://ext.pimg.tw/sodiun/48b4e0b9b97e7.jpg

And I found that Dave Womach produced a series of parakeet tricks DVDs, but it's not convenient for me to buy all of them:
A. Secrets of Bird Magic, Volume 1
B. Secrets of Bird Magic, Volume 2
C. Invisible Parakeet Harness DVD
D. Parakeet Magic DVD 1(For Use With Parakeet Gizmo, Windsock, and Pocket)
E. Parakeet Magic DVD 2(For parakeets, lovebirds, and other small birds)

So I hope you can answer me some questions, and I will know which is the most suitable for me.

I plan that I wear 3-button business suit with the buttons buckled, and I learned dove productions before.

1. Which one (A~E) teaches the method(s) of vanishing parakeet?
2. Is it very important to buy A to learn how to train them?
3. Can I use the same conception (harness and Gizmo...etc.) to make the gimmicks myself by just minimizing the gimmicks for dove productions?

I would ask some questions these days, hope you can answer me. Smile

Hey Robersley,

I think my best suggestion to you is to get the package deal, which is "Parakeet Magic DVD for Magicians" (E), and it comes with a gizmo, pocket, and windsock for $140. I do talk about how to make your own windsocks in there.

This is by far my post popular "package" on the site. Many magicians have purchased this deal and like it. You can find it at http://www.davewomach.com/products.htm a little more than half way down the page.

Good luck!

Dave

PS - I rarely log into this anymore, so if you have any more questions, please feel free to email me from my site. Thanks!

By the way, for anyone who owns Dave's DVDs, does it include info on training parakeets initially? Such as hand training, getting them used to a Gizmo, etc? I'm considering getting a Parakeet soon, so I was curious.

Thanks,

I don't do parakeet magic any more, but I did.
I have the gizmo, and I have the DVDs.

If this is something you want to do... get these.

Dave teaches you how to train a parakeet in real time.
What does that mean?
Well... The DVD is of him teaching a brand new bird.
Follow what he does, and you will be able to teach these incredibly smart birds within minutes.
It's actually very amazing.

This gizmo is good, too.
It's what you would need to do it professionally.

If I had a place to keep the birds now, I would still be doing it.
But they are too LOUD for me, right now.

I thank you also, as I've been wanting to get some Parakeets to add to my stuff. I had about 50 of them 20 years ago but was just raising them for breeding, I love the little birds. I've had about 5 that would talk, and I was not training them to do so at the time. They just picked it up.

You're all welcome.

I remember my little bird, before I gave him away to a good home...

I literally taught him to turn in circles, walk through a ring, and something else that I can't remember.. in a few hours in one day.

I was a amazed how smart those little birds are.
