I just thought I'd share with you guys...(with the patience to watch all 6 clips) how I come up with a routine. Like most things in magic, it starts with either an effect you want to develop or a accidental move that seemed useful and worthy to be developed into a routine. Inthis case... It was a move and an accidental transfer that sparked my simple routine.
You will notice how simple version one is. It will get complicated and confusing in the following versions. I did not mind it at all. Got great comments as well as bad comments which helped me the most. I simply let my ideas flow. No matter how silly or how useless the moves and the patter was... I just kept trying. There was no right or wrong ... I was on a mission. In the end I ended up using version 4. I personally enjoy this version. Magicians get a kick out of it in lectures and conventions. I did notice however that version 1 was more appreciated by laymen. Of course with the patter that I developed through the years. The bottom line is .... more often than not, simple and direct...not to mention, motivated magic is more effective. The creative process is such a joy to go through. There are some items in the other versions that I use in other routines today. I would not have stumbled upon them had I not decided to work on this simple coin routine. Enjoy magic! That is what its all about.... not to mention...THE ENJOYMENT OF OUR AUDIENCE. I will take a video of what Threeple Treat is "today" some time soon. version 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiunGoAl6dw version 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OAbvOfWUHk version3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byQPiRmQ3-g&NR=1 version 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbajvXNcEZA&feature=related version5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02yb99BEDV4&feature=related version 7 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4mEhisN0VA&feature=related some bloopers for your enjoyment! Cheers and Mabuhay from Manila! Rannie * Version 6 has always been the missing clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPyMJ_tk0VA&feature=related

Rannie,
This is a very interesting thread. How do each of us create a routine. Finding the way to become personal instead of copying others... You opened the ball in a flamboyant way!
