Need some help guys. I'd like to do a 7 keys to baldplate with an attache case handcuffed to my wrist. Can any of you guys point me in the right direction as to if anyone makes something like this. Perhaps a set with a well hidden release mechanism so when my key is inserted they will open. Looking for good quality.
Any advice welcomed cheerz |

Nothing like that currently exists, to my knowledge.
Give Ian McColl a little time to ponder it, though...

Ian is a master locksmith who designs much of the equipment people who post here might use. He custom designs lots of his own stuff, and if anyone can make what you are looking for, it is he.

You can pm Ian right here on the Café. He's a master at what he does. I don't think there's anyone else out there that even comes close.
If there is please let me know

If he works it out, he and Mark Cannon might possibly market it; not a bad concept.

You could eaisly do it where YOU pick the key.
Being left with the last key however may involve turning the cuff over............. Come to think of it... What's the premise? Why would someone open YOUR handcuff so YOU can keep the money? If the cuff is on YOUR wrist and another person has the key then what benefit is is to them? I think a philisophocal view should be where the lock is attached to an inadamite object. On the other hand... If the cuff was on them then they should be the one to have the key otherwise the breifcase would explode, or something - because - in that case, if there was money in it and they DIDN'T have the key they might just run off the stage (as a joke) and leave you looking dumb. I'm not sold on the concept unless it's an escape where there is a penelty and you have to rummage around in a bag full of keys and pull-out the correct key. In that case the effect can be accomplished by many means. This seeems to be a case of "An effect in search of a method" in my opinion. A good idea but needs thought through so it's logical for the audience and not "just because" we can install a magnet inside an aluminum handcuff for no other reason then it can be done.

S&W put out a high security handcuff it uses a key similar to the type you open a vending machine with. It is a barrel type key. combine this with other keys that don't work and you have a a set of keys one that opens the lock and several that do not. The other keys can be made by a locksmith that will not work in this style of lock. The problem is the cuffs were on the high end in price.

Long out of production and now, yes, already a costly collector's piece.
