Indeed it must be hard for any inventor.
You invent something, spend 1000s of hours and days perfecting it and at that time you think you may have a sellable product. You are not then going to spend 1000s of whatever your currency in manufacturing a product you are not yet sure that anyone wants. You could be left with them all on your hands and 1000s in debt. So you approach a dealer and after a time they decide they suddenly want 10,000s of the things by next week when it takes you that long to order in the items needed to make it! You then have to stop your entire life (nice if you can do that but realistically not practicable for most: Family, work engagements, daytime job are all things that can't just be ditched at a moments notice)and sit there night and day soldering, gluing, attaching and testing 10,000 of the item until you go blind! Your an inventor and like inventing things and suddenly you find that your once interesting project that you thought some may like has turned into a right pain in the backside taking over your whole life. Then you come here and see what amounts to disputes with any given distributer not the inventor and hear people moaning. And all after you have just spent the last 12+ hours knee deep in glue and solder fumes. Time to cut the inventor a bit of slack I think.

I think I should post this since I have heard from a few people who, obviously, have received theirs and it might be easier to do this rather than keep answering individual PM's. Some seem to have a noise issue. I have not had such a problem. It may be the way I've set it up. If you have it, you'll know what I mean when I say, I may well have it too tight, but it works great and quietly, so I will continue to leave it set up so. Without giving away too much, I'll just say I use one of those postal rubber bands that they put around small parcels and I have it doubled around me. Hope that helps.
And, positioning the bolt is very important. The printed instructions are not real clear on exactly how to hold it, in fac, they are slightly incorrect, but if you watch the DVD and grip it exactly as he holds it, it'll work like a charm. Good luck everyone. |

I'm not sure those wristbands would work. I have been experiencing the noise issue John mentioned and I am going to try his rubber band idea. (better yet, it would have been nice if an adjustable velcro strap would have been included). I don't think the wristband would work because as John mentions, the connection has to be tight. When I first tried it, I used a normal rubber band doubled over and that was not tight enough.

Hi, I have received ultracinese and I have not as of yet even opened the box due to the fact that work and other factors have conspired to cripple me time wise over the last 60 days (I bought myself swadling's ultimate power pack with double deception coins and bob's box for Christmas and as of yet have not unboxed that from dec 24th ). I finally have some breathing room and will try to immerse myself in my chosen hobby of magic these next two weekends, but I am the kind of person who absolutely can't stand to get into sn effect to find out that I need something not provided!! I originally thought only a battery would be needed and maby a bolt and nut ( of which I have immediate access to, but now realize bolts and nuts are provided), but am realizing that to set it up these
posts suggest that I have to provide the means of which to attach it ( not included).so iwas wondering if emyers99,udtaad,runaway jag or anyone else can tell me who sells adjustable velcro or is there maby an accessory available at one of the magic stores made for similar purposes or will the sweat band idea work because I want to be prepared and certainly don't want a noise issue!! any help is gratly appreciated thanks Charles |

While I think an adjustable velcro strap would have been nice, it is not necessary. I don't want to go into much detail because I don't want to give away too much of the secret here. But in terms of the attachment issue, the creator recommends using your normal watch. I've done so, and it works fine. As for the noise issue, I'm still up in the air. I have yet to figure out how to eliminate the noise issue I have been experiencing. Again, I am hoping some additional experimentation will solve this issue.

When the video was published I asked Leonardo Milanesi and Hocus Pocus whether the v...s make any noise. Leonardo answered, there is no problem. Hocus Pocus answered: 'The Ultracinese makes no noise at all'. I was not convinced and did not order. 'No problems' for magic dealers often means: there are a lot of problems, so you cannot perform like in the vids or descripton in the ads, but if you work on it, add loud music, place the audience at right angles, - best 90 degrees, then eventually you can perform like you expected. I hope you find a solution and I hear from you that you do not hear anything. Gunthard |

Iam glad I let my pre order go. I was waiting for good reviews before I re order this. Some give good reviews but now some are saying there are noise issue's. I will not be buying this now until there are better reviews with no noise issue's at all. This looks like it can only be done as close up and not on stage. Being a close up effect I don't want any noise issue's at all.

Maybe some magicians overlook miracles while seeking the "perfect" effect.
I think the question to be asked but hard to answer due to exposure potential is "How much noise are we talking about?" I am quite familiar with the method/workings of Ultracinese. If a slight noise is created, I am quite sure it would be covered by the minimal ambient sounds from almost every performing environment out there with maybe the exception of close up in a Church during a service. If in the end, you eliminate the performance during incredibly quiet situations, you are still left with thousands of situations that you could perform the miracle in. I think darn near EVERY trick out there has limitations ( Angles, Settings, etc. ) Back to my main point, I think you should write the creator or dealer and ask specifically what kind of noise level we are talking. It also may be that most units have no noise at all and it is a manufacturing error which may be possible to fix. I think this one of the most AMAZING Creations/Concepts I have seen in a LONG time. I would buy it in a second if I were performing these days. Just my opinion.

Again, I am not saying the trick is a dud or not worth purchasing, nor am I delusional enough to expect a "perfect" effect. Given the nature of what is involved here, I fully expected there to be some noise and was honestly surprised when people said there was no noise at all. And granted, this may be a perfect case of "you know what to listen for so of course you are going to hear something." That is why I fully hope that additional experimentation and an actual performance environment will correct the perceived noise issue. So at this point I am not passing any judgment and am anxiously awaiting reviews from other people who have this. I do feel the method is highly creative and, to be honest, I'm shocked that it actually works. So I truly hope the noise issue turns out to be no issue at all.

Regarding the noise issue, THIS is what the creator, Leonardo Milanesi had to say in the 'Penny for your thoughts' section.

I received mine in the UK a couple of days ago (from a UK dealer). It is, quite simply: awesome, award-deserving magic! Beautiful to behold, clean, and so easy to understand.
Perfect for ANYONE from 2-102, really. Probably the best visual close-up effect I've ever seen. I think none of the concerns above matter. Mine certainly makes a VERY low sound. Only with almost no ambient noise could it be heard. For almost ANY practical working environment, talking is not an issue. Regarding the operation, your fingers will start to acquire a small callous, which will enable your performance. Much as guitarists acquire them on the tips of their fingers. The switch can be placed anywhere you like, pretty much. Regarding the video, despite low image quality and one rather glaring (though obvious) grammatical error (it's not "parallel"), I found the DVD excellent. No unneccesary padding and boring lengthy explanations of the obvious, just a to-the-point talk through of all you need to know. It has to be a 10/10, this is too perfect! Congratulations, Leonardo. Your hard work and ingenuity have given us a fantastic new PK effect. Doug |
