Steve,
You'll get a much better sound with a headset mic. |

Ken,
The Happie Amp body pack I looked at looked like it had a 1/8" (mini-plug) input so I think you'll be able to find an adapter that will work with it, as long as it hasn't been wired differently than most. |

For mentalism a headset is not really the most desirable for a number of reasons although there are some very successful mentalists that use them. I would rather not use a head set and am curious if the hand held mic supplied is sufficient for an audience of up to 200. I would hold it in my hand where possible and when inconvenient to do so would put it into a holder attached to my neck. Others have done this and I just want to know if the mic supplied is good enough. Steve |

Ken: Yes, a countryman will work on the Happie Amp. I have a friend who uses one and as long as you have the right plug it will work just fine.

I received a happie amp today. I took it out to the park to hear how the sound carries outdoors. The lapel mic doesn't carry sound well outdoors, and the headset mic is just ok. The music was heard from 100' or further away...thumbs up on the sound of the music. I don't think it will do well to talk over screaming kids in any venue. I think it will work just fine for birthday parties & libraries, and will make a good music player for just about any venue. Here is what I do like about it
1. Sound Quality with music 2. Battery operated...no wires to worry about..just walk in turn it on and go 3. Rechargable slot for a 9 volt battery 4. Run music through the transmitter...no more running over to turn off the music What I don't like 1. Both mics are on the volume control...each belt pack has a volume control which helps a bit Overall...good for small outdoor venues, medium sized audience indoors 50-75 people not so good for carrying your voice outdoors...I wouldn't recommend it for school gyms or larger banquet rooms. I will let you know how it performs during my upcomming shows. I would recommend every working entertainer to buy on and keep it with you everywhere you go, but always have a bigger system to back it up! |

Answer to the mic question- I now offer a flesh colored thin mic and you can see a picture of it on the website http://www.HappieAmp.com it is $169.
If you call Countryman they will sell you a cord for your headset made specifically for the Happie Amp. Chaz- volume issues with voice???? Give me a call dude. Your either wispering or need to turn up the volume or something is wrong. Volume has never been a problem!! I used it for 480 middle school age kids in a gymnasium last week.... I used it to get them quiet too!!! LOL. |

If anyone's interested, I've decided to sell my original Happy Amp (not the 2.0). I've used it to great success, but I currently have 9 sound systems, and my room is getting a little crowded.
First person who offers $120 (including shipping) gets it. Brian |

Is the housing (front, back, sides) for the 2.0 happie amp made in metal or plastic?
Can it be mounted on a standard tripod stand? If so how, and what type of adapter may be needed to secure it to the stand?

The case is made from plastic.
And no, it cannot be mounted as-is on a standard speaker stand. I don't know what kind of adapter you'd need, but Brian just recently announced that he's selling a tripod stand for the Happy Amp that fits the mounting bracket that's molded into the back of the case. It's not yet up on the website--you'll have to email him directly. |

Hmmm... plastic? Not sure I like this. How durable is the plastic in terms of risk of cracking due to a small mishap?

I have had mine bumping around in the back of my car since February and using it for 10-12 shows a month. I don't have a single crack or issue with it. I did however buy a briefcase style aluminum tool case to keep it and other supplies in. The included sack does nothing except keep away minor scratches.

I had the volume cranked too with an audience of 150 and half court gymnasium..just my take and experience |

Has anyone experienced getting lots of static on your Happy Amp? I just sold one to another entertainer, and he says that he's getting lots of static on it. It worked great for me, so I'm wondering if different parts of the country will affect the signal to the wireless mic.

I sometimes get static, try adjusting the antenna up or down plus check volumn controls, may be set too high.
