Has anyone experienced getting lots of static on your Happy Amp? I just sold one to another entertainer, and he says that he's getting lots of static on it. It worked great for me, so I'm wondering if different parts of the country will affect the signal to the wireless mic.

Brian

As I said..I bought a new mic...took care of the problem.

Anybody used the Happie Amp in parade settings? How easy is the Happie Amp to use for a very nontechnically savvy person like myself? I've been considering purchasing this item for over a year and really need to make a commitment before the busy summer season starts.

I've never used the Happie Amp in a parade setting, but have used it outdoors for a crowd of 50-75 people during a community march, and it worked fine. Granted, they were focused on me, and didn't have the distractions of a parade, but it did work well for me in my setting. And technologically, it is very simple. Just a few knobs and inputs, nothing too hard to figure out. I have been happy with mine!

What wireless mics to folks use with this amp? The standard one that comes with the package or do most upgrade? If you do upgrade, which mic do you recomend?

Thanks
Buck

I JUST bought a Happie Amp and it came in today. I actually bought it BEFORE reading this review. (I do things backwards sometimes Smile After a short charge on the battery I just had to turn it on . I have to say I am impressed with the sound. I tried all the microphones and so far, I like what I'm hearing.

I want to use it in conjunction with my MP3 tech in a show and I will give my feedback. I think its going to be a very useful little system!

Tommy did you end up keeping the amp? can you give an overall review, if you have been using it in your shows.
Thanks

For small shows the Happy Amp is a Great Investment. I've been performing magic shows for over 20+ years and have owned a variety of sound systems.I still use my Bose 402 speakers & larger amp for large shows - but for in-home, school shows, churches and for audiences of 100 this unit is Excellent. I use 2 Happy Amps & the new Ultimate Controller ( another GREAT Device) to run my music.
When you first get the unit - you will think - this can not produce a quality sound, Try them & you'll be surprised.
Compact - Portable - Easy to use - & GREAT SOUND for such a small unit.
Brian at Happy Amp is very professional in his service. He will do whatever it takes to make you a satisfied customer. I wish all companies would offer this tpye of servics.

Yes! I used my Happie Amp when I was busking during Abbott's Magic Get-Together. I used it for playing music and to amplify my voice and it worked like a champ.

I also know that DynaMike used 2 Happie Amps during his street performances and they worked perfectly.

I must say I am very pleased with the Happie Amp. I was not expecting as good as quality or as good as sound from the little box.

I've been a loyal Happie Amp customer for several years, but now that I've gone from part-time to full-time performing, I cannot recommend the product anymore.

Why? For starters, the Happie Amp 2.0 uses a lead acid battery, which needs to be recharged before it completely drains out. Depending on how loud you need the sound, the battery will die within 2 hours or so. Once the battery drains down to nothing, then it's dead and you need to replace it.

Performing several shows in one day? Forget about using a Happie Amp... unless you want to worry about the sound cutting out in the middle of your performance.

I've also had my fair share of faulty Happie Amp products. Here's a quick preview of the issues I've had this year: the Ultimate Control had a faulty on/off switch, there was a loud buzzing sound while the amp battery was recharging, and there was a bad jack on the Ultimate Control. Overall, there were problems with 3 Happie Amps and 2 Ultimate Controls. I purchased 2 replacement batteries and I STILL can't get a Happie Amp or Ultimate Control to work as they should out of the box.

Yes, Brian is extremely fair, kind, responsive and a great guy. Get his Unlimited Warrantee and, in many cases, he'll have a new unit shipped out to you the very next day.

Yes, if you are just getting started, need a backup amp, or want a system to get you through a show or two, then the Happie Amp will probably do the trick. It served me well for years as I was beginning my career in magic.

And yes, the UHF Pro does use a lithium ion battery, so you won't necessarily have to worry about the battery issues with a UHF Pro.

But here's the bottom line: my Happie Amp has malfunctioned more times than I care to remember in front of clients, and I learned this lesson the hard way. If you, like me, are a professional performer, then you need to invest in professional equipment.

I had to experiment with it in order for everything to work perfectly. Just like magic tricks. Don't think everything will play well "out of the box." It is not the item that is professional, it how you manage it. For example, how far you have the antenna, the size of your crowd, your type of crowd, inside or outside venue, the distance from the transmitter to the receiver, etc.

I know this is a VERY OLD forum, but I have a Happie Amp and love it. I am trying to get a lithium ion battery to replace the orginal lead battery. Brian Happie posted a video 9 years or so ago about a new battery that replaces the lead battery when he still sold them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp3nrs_vfps Did anyone ever buy the new type battery? Where can I buy one. Thank you!
