Marvelous collection and discovery.
one quick question about hands of glory, just to record my ignorance on many subjects. A hand of glory is usually associated with or thought of as a mans hand. But a withes hand or one from a murderess rather than a murder would be female.. So is a femine hand of glory a left hand as opposed to the males counter part being right? Just wondering. Very much enjoyed the back story of your find and pics as well. Kotah |

Logically, it must be a man's hand and not a woman. Main de Gloire (Hand of Glory) is linked to the word Mandragore (mandrake root), and the mandrake root sprots under the gallows,because the man semen falls on the ground. But I've seen right and left hands in litterature.
If you can't lit the candle on the thumb, someone in the house won't be influenced by the power of the hand, and will be awake. |
