I spoke to Wayne's wife last night and she specifically said that Wayne keeps influence as a lecture only effect. She was actually surprised when I asked her about it prior to his performing it - "How did you know about it?" she asked me with a surprised look.

The effect is really called "Houdini's Influence" and the real beauty of it is that the story is magical. That being said in respect to Wayne I don't want to divulge any more about it as Wayne obviously keeps this effect close to the vest - but I would also guess that he will ultimately release it to all at some point - just a guess.

I have gotten numerous PM's since last night from Café members seeking the manuscript, etc but I just can't as it is apparent that if Wayne Houchin wanted to release this he would do so on his site or the Theory site.

I had Googled and searched the Café myself the past 6 months looking for info on this Influence effect - and there just isn't much out there so far.

Hopefully my small description in the thread above adds to the body of knowledge about this effect, and even though it may seem like a tease... In respect to Wayne I would encourage any of you to make the drive and trek over to see him lecture when he is in your state. I think he will be in San Diego next as he is lecturing like a crazy man.

His methodology really reminds me a lot of someone like Eugene Berger - as many last night used the word "organic" to describe his style.

There is a mystical child-like quality to Wayne that almost reminds me of the late Doug Henning, and I didn't really feel that way until I saw him perform in person. I was expecting a "grungier" type of performer since I had only seen some of Wayne's demos online, but his stage presence was stunning. Of course Doug Henning never pulled string from his eyeball (!) but I felt that Wayne really exuded that mysticism and child-like quality that reminded me of tying emotion to magic - and the reason I got into magic in the first place.

Please don't PM me for details though as again - I would recommend that anyone see Wayne in person and be prepared to be blown to smithereens!

Wayne's T&R card, which he also only does at lectures, is OUTSTANDING. One of the better one's I've seen.

I agree. I like the way Wayne uses a lighter to burn the edges of the card to "mend" them at the end. It's all very well thought out...and it ends clean clean clean.

Where Wayne's T&R card could be found ? in one of his dvd, or book ?

Both Influence and his TnR is only released in his lectures, you cant find it anywhere else. Both are awesome in my opinion and worth much more than the price of the lecture itself. Wayne has put out years of work into both effects and the thinking behind those two effects are magnificent. Go for his lectures, you will not regret it.

For those who might feel this is a "one trick deck" or for one effect per performance; It is perfectly viable to go in to a 3 Card Monte, an Ambitious Card routine or any translocation/transformation effect which one can dream up.
Bill Malone, in his video series, On the Loose goes in to an effect called, I Should Have Done It Myself after his Ambitious Card routine. The same card was chosen for ISHDIM as was used during Bill's ACR and it went over well while getting a few laughs.

Hi Everyone,

I used Mastermind with the ''Blizzard'' trick principle where you use a deck case s***l. People are amazed as you just move on with another card trick where the spectator looks at the cards to be sure they are all different and shuffles the deck. It reinforces what you just did to them with Mastermind.

Combine two Mastermind Decks to make one deck. This way you can use two spectators and have two different results.

You can even combine a Mastermind or Monte Cristo Deck(!) with a regular deck. Then you can show the cards before and after the selection!

I've got one of Bernd's MC decks, and they are awesome...can anyone recommend any good DVD's or Books for different MC deck effects?
