This is my handling of Dawn Patrol by John Bannon. I just wanted to show that Dawn Patrol can be a very practical routine that you can use at any time in a performance. This version can be done from a shuffle deck in use and it will work from a deck containing any number of cards; it does not have to be a complete deck.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIxr4i3wgSE Also I read that Paul Gordon has an impromptu version of this. Could anyone tell me if his version is similar or where can I purchase it. Thanks Sincerely, Jose Martin |

Yeah Jose. Yours isn't the same as Paul's. His was published in Mystery Magazine; the 1st ever issue. It's also on, according to his blog, his new DVD - Card Rarities! I use his handling a lot...it's friggin' brilliant!

John, thanks for the info. I was able to compare the methods and indeed they are different. Although know I know the method for his version, I have been meaning to check some of Paul's material for a while; so I will get that dvd anyways. I like anything impromptu and it seems he has a lot of that type of material.
Also what a great timing for the promo video just when I need it |

A similar effect was published in MAGIC March 2009 named 'All's Fair Sandwich' by Shannon Clark.
It is a very similar effect but the spectator(s) shuffle the kings(jokers)into the deck face down before making a selection, and the performer only touches the cards once when the deck is handed back, giving them 'one last shuffle'. Similar to Dawn Patrol, its combination of principles means it is very difficult to deconstruct, and makes for a great late session fooler.
