I just got one from Bob to workshop with friends who are really into mentalism. Our conclusion is that this is top quality, these are all handmade by BOB. I am a neophyte when it comes to mentalism and the secret gizmos, but was able to get the hold of this with a few tries. If you are looking for a great tool, add this to your "toolbox". I wish it had come with instructions or tips but if you know what it does, you won't have a problem working something out.

Just a few words about one of Bob Solari’s new items that I think you should know about. It blew me away when he showed it to me.
The “Solari's Swami Secure” is way ahead of any thumb writer you may now use. The gimmick is hand-crafted, totally adjustable and depemdable. It’s also easily refillable (comes complete with refills) and is available in 3 sizes (sm., med. and lg.). Well worth $19.95 for all the workmanship involved. Available direct from Bob. Check it out at http://www.bobsolarimagic.com

Just look at his list of effects from A-Z, and search under "S" for Solari's Swami Secure. Then click on it. It'll take you to a full description.

I have found writing with this a breeze. It works perfectly for a routine I am working on. I can't recommend this highly enough.

They call them "chinagraph pencils" here in the UK.

Did anybody else get Solari's Swami? A review or tips from your experience will be great.

Thanks and Much appreciated.

Love this swami device. Clear, bold line. Comfortable and VERY stable to write with. I think this will be one of Solari's best sellers.

I just recieved mine in the mail yesterday. I love it. The wax insert is great for bold writing on stage and the band itself, is small enough to be used in a smaller setting. Being adjustable I am able to get it to sit on my thumb securely and comfortably

Just recieved mine via Hank Lee.

Gimic feels great and writes like a champ.

Question.

What do you use to write with that matches the gimmic writing?
Pen? Black crayon? Other?

From the image on the website it looks like a modified Boon. I prefer an U**** N*** writer as I like the writing angle better than that of a Boon.

I have always used the largest and softest pencil lead possible, along with an automatic (AKA "mechanical") pencil using the same lead for writing anything additional. They match very nicely and because of the width and softness of the lead, show up very well, even from the stage. The softer the lead, the easier the Swami is to use.

Why don't you try to see what match the best by yourself ?
It's so difficult ?

Question - when using this type of swami, it it supposed to go 75-100% around your t**** or just half or so and crimp into your t****? I've tried others before any they barely fit around it and easily come off or or impossible to write with. Please advise?

This version wraps halfway around the thumb and can be slightly adjusted for an impressively snug fit. Just make sure that you provide your correct thumb size to bob when ordering: small, medium or large.

This is one of the very best thumb writers out there.

Caveat: if you order directly from Bob and are not an anti-President Obama person, ask him to defer from including his free bonus effect. I'm not all that political, but found mine presumptuous and offensive, and chucked it into the trash.

I just double-checked my Solari writer and need to correct what I wrote above: it wraps more like 75% around the thumb's diameter.

This is a steady and discreet writer!
