I am a magician of course, and I play guitar. I have a collection of different guitar picks. I was wondering if anyone knows any tricks with guitar picks. Maybe in place of coins. Picks are lighter ,ore colorful and fun to use. Maybe matrix?

Funny, I was just messing around with picks. Mine are for mandolin. They are super easy to palm. They are smaller than I like for most things, but they might be an easy thing to use with a tenkai pinch.

Bet you don't have one of these? You'd have to have some big hands to do a matrix with theses....

No. The tenkai pinch is also called the goshman pinch because he popularized it. I won't expose it here, but perhaps you know it by this name.

I think there may be an effect in the Magic Menu series with guitar picks - earlier ones.

The coin trick Spellbound would work nice with guitar picks.

Guitar Picks Across!

Guitar Pick through Hand.

Try to do a coin roll with a pick. Might be to light but it would look cool.

You could make a gimmicked pick and do Karate Pick instead of Karate Coin!

Do a Pick Flurry instead of Coin Flurry.

Many of the coin sleights and vanishes would definitely work.

Have fun,

Metatron

I used to do one from one of the early years, year one or two, call "Pick-A-Card". From what I remember, the pick disappeared and reappeared on top of the selected card, in the deck.

I stick exclusively with Herco thumb picks, but the truth is, as of yet, I haven't thought of any effects with them. Not sure if the public can relate to them.

Maybe I'll think of an effect to perform with my capo.. Smile

You can actually buy a customized pic with your name information on it. Just hand them the pic and while you riffle the deck they can run the pic down as you force a card...your patter could be OK this is the card you "picked".....

You can then follow up with a 4 bar shuffle!

I'm not sure how m any of you know, but if you light fender(only works with fender I think) on fire, it burns really bright, and pretty fast. The cool thing is is that is basically burns into nothingmore than a few specs of dust. My small Christian private school has a lot of guitarist, ( I am one also) and I use a burning pick to to light my dove pan. Its pretty cool. m not sure this is what you were thinking about using
