You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't use any more jokes with picks in this thread!
Wait...nevermind, carry on. |

Hey guys....I have an effect in my (almost finished) new book Orbit's Anomalies.I can't take any pictures for the write up since I fractured my wrist...however, anyone that is interested in the effect can send me an email at donny.orbit@gmail.com and I will send you the write-up.

Jay Sankey has a neat broken and restored guitar pick idea that can be found in his Best of the Jay Sankey Newsletter Ebook. I think the ebook might be free...I'm not sure though.

I'd be careful burning a pick. Plastics can be toxic and sticky as they burn.
How about some thimble work with thumb picks? Perhaps the jumping pick a la jumping toothpick. Just a suggestion, I haven't tried these. - Mary Mowder |

I seem to remember there was an entire book (or booklet) published a few years back exclusively on magic with guitar picks. Can't remember the title, but perhaps a Google (or Bing!) search would provide the source.

Most classic effects can be done with pics.
1 pick routine with a big pick finish (from the link above) would be my first choice |

When I worked as demo guy at Presto's I used to sell floating match gimmicks by floating guitar picks using a patter line about channelling the spirit of Jimmy Hendrix. I sold a lot of gimicks that way. Looks cool.
God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.

Oliver Meech has a SUPERB mentalism effect with guitar picks in his book "The Plot Thickens"
worth checking out for so many more reasons than that trick. I recommend it unreservedly |
