Go to http://www.fcm.org, then click on U.S., then click on the left side for "Convention Information." All information is posted there I believe.

I sent in my FCM convention registration today for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, hope to see you there! Also neat to see Ice McDonald on the cover of the March/April The Voice of FCM- Ice recently lectured for Ring 211 in Grand Rapids and stayed at the home of MagicBob and SuZie. Looking forward to seeing Ice again at the FCM Convention- I last saw his act at Abbott's in Colon. First class. MagicBob said they talked late into the night about theology and magic. PJ Weber has agreed to assist me with my lecture on Gospel magic in special locations on Friday morning.
On "Magical Tract Trick" by Norm Barnhart on page 23 of the latest issue, the $7 bill used looks similar to those at http://www.livingwaters.com Just really a great idea by "The Great Normado" (I got his performance DVD for $5 from FAB Magic in Colon- I watched it Saturday night at my house with MagicBob- funny "inside" stuff). Anyway, what would also work for Norm's idea is the funny "Counterfeit Detector" sold by Ickle Pickle Products- sells for about $27.50 or so. This device "SHREDS" the inserted tip bill (to check the bill to see if it is "counterfeit"- immediately appears to shred it)- but then you can give the waitress the $7 bill or trillion dollar bill or whatever as a replacement. Be sure to leave a big 20% real tip later on the table as suggested by Norm. I've taken this "Counterfeit Detector" into a few restaurants- is a hassle to bring it as is about the size of a small napkin dispenser- but is pretty good way to get a tract out there in a fun way. Wow- I am very pleased to report that my friends MagicBob and SuZie have agreed to perform at the FCM convention on the Wednesday night program July 14 (along with other acts of course). MagicBob will be doing magic, escapes and Gospel magic, SuZie will be doing chalk art. http://www.MagicBob.org I also have the pleasure of going on a missions trip with them both to the Logos Hope http://www.LogosHope.com later this month, really looking forward to it! MagicBob has also agreed to assist PJ Weber and myself in our Friday 11AM lecture "Gospel Magic On TV And In Other Unique Places" which was Duane Laflin's original idea for us to do. MagicBob has performed in India many times, as well as in prisons, nursing homes and outdoor events. So I was really happy to hear that Del Wilson talked them into performing- thanks Del! Hope to see you all there! Roger from http://www.ChristianMagician.org

By the way, when you register for the FCM convention, or when you renew your FCM membership, order one of the new FCM lapel pins. They are cool- unlike the gold ones that I have worn before where you can read it by looking at the pin closely, these new ones you can clearly read "The Fellowship of Christian Magicians" on it. Amazing technology to make these pins- very easy to see the Bible on it now too.

At the 11AM lecture on Friday at this year's FCM convention, MagicBob is also going to teach his terrific routine using "pressed pennies" from Living Waters and his neato "The Door" illustration using the Jesus dollar bills sold by Dock Haley/Steve Varro. So three of us now are presenting one of the 11AM lectures: MagicBob, PJ Weber and myself... don't you dare miss it!

MagicBob, SuZie and myself just got back from the http://www.LogosHope.com ship. What a wonderful experience!- including doing multiple programs on the ship, at the Bermuda Westgate prison, the Bermuda Salvation Army and at a local church. See the Logos Hope website for a brief article on our visit. As they videotaped some of our programs, we are hoping to get a copy of the footage and prepare it into a new "Now That's Magic! onboard from the Logos Hope Theatre" special cable access program. I'll let you know when we get that posted to http://www.ChristianMagician.org MagicBob and SuZie next February are traveling to Africa using a large portable tent as their Gospel magic and chalk art stage as they go from village to village... MagicBob will be performing his rope escape Wednesday night (pictured on the Logos Hope site) at the FCM convention, SuZie will also be doing her chalk art Wednesday night at FCM (see one of the chalk art pictures she drew on Bermuda-it is behind the chair MagicBob is sitting in pictured on the Logos Hope web site). I was at the American Museum of Magic in Marshall, Michigan last Saturday- MagicBob and SuZie were there. We had a blast looking through all the exhibits there- well worth the effort to get there. An upstairs section of the Museum has displayed on the wall a bunch of the early Andre' Kole posters. MagicBob and SuZie told me they are going to be on the Wednesday night program at the 2010 FCM convention and MagicBob is taking part in the 11AM lecture on Friday morning. Neato!

I see that Fairchild Magic is going to be one of the magic dealers at the 2010 FCM convention. Another reason to go this July to Marion- just to check out his fine built props, some especially made for Gospel magic...

I'm excited to hear about all the new lecturers and performers this year. It's great to see new blood on the stage and in the lecture rooms. New blood means new ideas, and I'm excited to see them!
I will be at your lecture Friday morning as well, it sounds fantastic!

Hey, I am also excited about the upcoming FCM convention. I will be sharing "Close Up Magic With Spiritual Applications" on Tuesday at 8:30. I will be doing some marketed effects with spiritual applications. (sorry no reveals) And I will be sharing and revealing some close up and some children's effects that I have developed. See you at the convention.

On My way to FCM - at a Hotel a little over half way for me and the rest of the drive tomorrow
The magic is not in our sleights and illusions, but instead in our ability to bring love and joy.

Wow- what a terrific 2010 FCM convention! First class facilities- I go to quite a few conventions including a legal convention later this week. At many of the conventions I go to (including the one later this week in Traverse City), you end up in crowded "ballroom" settings- flat floor, small raised platform, lousy sound, no where to eat, etc.. First class facilities at IWU, I cannot think of a better location for FCM with its multiple theatres and rooms. Loved the shows, loved the lectures, just a great value. A highlight for me was seeing Duane Laflin doing a lecture still going strong Wednesday night in North Hall at 1:45AM. A+++ and a big thanks to FCM for putting this great yearly event on!

This was my first time at the FCM International Convention and I had a great time!
Due to my schedule, I was only able to attend Thursday and Friday but this gave me a taste of what to expect next year. Many thanks to The MagicBus and Bob and SuZie for their friendship during those two days and thanks to all who labored to make the convention the success it was! andrew |

It was a hoot meeting you Andrew- and send me the DVD of you performing- we can use it for Now That's Magic! for sure! By the way, Now That's Magic! was airing yesterday in "reruns" where I live on Comcast Channel 12 at 5AM and 11AM- I love that time slot because not much else to watch on tv on a Sunday morning. Thanks too to Mary and Duane Laflin for giving us permission to use their "Duane On Your TV" DVD for future episodes of Now That's Magic!
It was a pleasure conversing with you Andrew (and your great sense of humor)- you are a funny, funny, dude. Looking forward to seeing you next year! Roger from http://www.ChristianMagician.org |

Great meeting you as well, Roger. It was a pleasure getting to know you, Bob and Suzie.
I'll get the DVD to you as soon as I can arrange to have the camera work done. It's an honor to be considered for the Comcast! Perhaps I'll see you again before next year's conference. Who knows? Until then, blessings to you and your ministry! andrew |
