Hi Guys
If you were to put together a 10 - 15 minute act that had to fit into your Wallet, what would you include. (The only rules being that you have to limit yourself to one packet trick (Cards) Only, and that you have to include a minimum of 6 effects) If you want to include gimmicks like a ring flight or TT then you can add them on after the main effects in your wallet. THE REASON for this is that I would like to put a whole act together whereby I am always ready to perform at a moments notice , BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY have an act that can be used for a pro walk around gig should I not have my other props such as a deck of cards on me etc. I am trying to do just that and have so far come up with the following: (not in any particular order) 1 Coins 2 Powerball 60 3 Bill for no tip bill switch 4 The 4 Aces for Dr Daleys Last Trick 5 Loops 6 Vortex Cards for coin productions and Matrix Effects 7 Pocket Space Plus In addition to the above list I also carry around the Presto Ring Flight by Tony Clark, a TT, A piece of string and a ring (Considering getting a PK ring for Impromptu Chop Cup Etc.) Again most of these items are normal items that you would have with you anyway e.g. I wear the ring and I put my real Keys on the Presto Rig Flight. I'd really like to hear your suggestions Many Thanks |

This isn't wallet but is a small show.
1) Professors Nightmare by Uday. Make sure it's that brand because it rolls up real small and is made of a nice woven soft rope. It's only $3.00 and well worth it. 2) Dream Queen for a small packet trick(Mentalism) (also cheap) 3) Ellis Ring and Ribbon 4) Paddle Trick 5) Hopping half (with change out coins) 6) Thimbles |

Business cards for: Scott G's Assertive/Positive/Negative. The Jermay's Emotional Intelligence, then Seven by Bryn Renolds, Pocket Space Plus, and Heirloom. That is what I have. But if I was going loaded for bear I'd add Powerball 60 and Anate (Anate as an Oh BTW effect). My all time favorite closer (no reset though) is Bryn's Bank night. (I normally carry 4 or 5 sets for an evening).

Some business cards, a sharpie, some coins, mini 52 on 1 card and improv skills. Because you can always find napkins, pencils or pens, rubberbands, etc around most environments. Become a walking encyclopedia of impromptu magic.

It would even be possible to do a 15 minute act with NO props!
I am building up a repetoir of "body magic" such as twisting arm illusion, my version of finger fantasies etc. If you perfect the presentation and choose what works for you- a lot of "body magic" is as strong as sleight of hand, or at the least, as entertaining. Then there is magic using things that other people carry- coins, business cards, finger rings. If you do mentalism stuff- then you need virtually no props- just a lot of front! |

4 Aces.
4 Coins (I use old English pennies) Chadwick’s mending cotton. Elastic bands and stargazer gaff. Power ball 60. I also add to this a hanky and a purse frame. With this I did a walk round set for 30ish people at a friends party. I had two set of 3 tricks. 1- Single coin routine were the coin comes out of purse and reapers purse frame then with 3 others.(dropped in to a glass) 2- The Trick Question (Brother John Hamman, Daryl) Done in a don’t just street gamblers lesson. 3- 4 Coin matrix from the mark Wilson book. The second set has a mystic tale about strange happing and mediums. 1- A coin and hank routine based on something I saw Pat Page do. 2- Hindu Thread with all things that power the universe tale on it. 3- Then this is all round up with a physic mind reading with power ball 60. I also did stargazer and a few other bits as well like a unprompted chop cup routine which kicked and with a bit of ribbon being around lent its self to a figure ring and string routine. This was for a friend party however I have gained a possible booking from it.
Enjoy your magic,
and let others enjoy it as well! |

Well I'm gonna cheat a lil. My routines aren't just in my wallet but in my head. I'm mostly a Mentalist, so I love doing propless material when I can.
So my propless material is 1.) Silent Running by Ben Harris 2.) My routine Imperfection 3.) Angel/Devil on shoulders And in my wallet is simply: 1.) Banachek's This and That 2.) Jim Pace's Magic List 3.) A American Half Dollar for a quick One Coin Routine I put together. ~Robert EC

Don't forget to check out all 3 pocket mentalism cards at: http://www.mentalvoyage.com Regarding Insight's post: Cell phones can be very useful...not only for all of the magic/mentalism "apps", but as a tool. I posted in inner thoughts a while back how one can be used as a shiner for a great impromptu design dupe. Another idea I've used with cell phones is sending a text message to a spectator as a prediction, telling them not to open the message until after the effect. It's a useful technique when there is no pen/paper readily available, and for getting a new phone number! |

It seems like 6 illusions in 10 to 15 min is an awfully fast pace.
Ive entertained an entire table for 10 min or so just with a PK ring... I'd rather do fewer feats and make each one much more of an illusion.

A gimmicked dollar with a "door" in it 7. A single $1 bill (for tearing out the black center portion when "I'm hungry" and restoring it) 8. Eugene's (Burger)Last Dollar gimmick. 9. A plastic slide to help ease card into wallet for CTW 10. 2 cards for my "Brokeback Cardwarp."
