Here's a video demo of my version of the Cube-A-Libre--hope you like it!
A big THANK YOU goes out to Christopher Lyle for producing this demo for me. All we asked him for was a quick little demo. Christopher went above and beyond the call of duty. He made this video as a favor to me and I am so thankful for the professional help--and believe me, I need professional help The Cubes were a big hit in the Dealer's Room at the World Magic Seminar. Christopher totally baffled a room full of top shelf Magicians there (I won't name any names)--I knew then that everybody needed to see his handling of The Cubes. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENzEk6e-GTU Gimpy

I have no idea how they work, but that was an awesome demo!

Gimpy, great work!! ^_^ I'm the guy who filmed it, so with Christopher being the perfectionist that he is (an insisting on it being perfect through one continuous shot) I and four other local magi got to see his routine, well, more than once. And every time it floored us!
(Hear that Christopher? "One Take" my foot!) He never tipped the method to us (I still have extra footage with one of the guys, after maybe the 5th time seeing the whole routine, said, "S**T! Now I want one of those!" This really is an awesome trick -- great work Gimpy!! |

I don't suppose this could be produced in a smaller version for close-up? The sideways "4" is a GREAT touch.

THAT is amazing, all around, Chris, Gimpy... The tightest, quietest working, great routining, and truly taking advantage of modern tooling and extreme attention to detail... This is why I have Gimpy making my Choppos, why I want him making my Gypsy *** Escapes, and doing the collaborative research on our upcoming release, the Holy Vaults... wouldn't trust anyone else with them!
Great work, Gimp, great presentation Chris... You know how to pick 'em!!! Jimmy Fingers |

I can't agree. I think it is boring...there is a lack of emotional hook. I would never do that routine in my show.

Well Stellan, I would hope you wouldn't do THAT routine. This was a dealer demo. It's not supposed to give you a story or routine. It is a direct showing of what can be done with the prop. So it's going to be more geared toward magicians.
I don't know if I want one yet, or can afford one, but I can already start to think of how I might use it, and the story I would write for ME, with the emotional hook. Do you only buy props where all the thinking on presentation has been done for you? |

Wow! I am so relieved that my Cube-A-Libre is being so well received! Thanks for all the positive remarks. I took a gamble when I spent so many months trying to get it right. Joe Stevens got me started on it, and now it seems that the time spent was well worth it.
I really appreciate all the comments! Thanks Aaron for your stellar work on the video. I owe you BIG TIME!! And revlovejoy, you are spot on. It's a dealer's demo which is what I wanted. I asked Christopher to do the demo this way. I had never seen a full demonstration of a Cube-A-Libre before and thought it was needed. Tabman, I think with your woodworking skills, you could become not only a magician, but a great magic builder someday Gimpy
