I have written a book to learn a memorized deck with a memory technique that is never used before for that goal. The technique makes an appeal to a part of the brain of which it is scientificaly proven that it is way out the strongest part of our memory.
Momentary, the book is helas only in the Dutch language.
Those who are interested, go to http://users.telenet.be/hai/maigret/index.html to download a flyer.

The flier states that the memorisation method is specifically honed towards the Dutch language. There are no additional hints as to what the method is; the flyer elaborates on what effects can be done with a MD and gives a bio of the author.

My guess is that the post was placed here to inform Dutch magicians of the forthcoming book. Perhaps with enough interest an English-language version of the method will be created, but Waterloophai will have more info on that.

I posted this indeed only to inform the Dutch-speaking magicians.
I have to make a little correction:
The system that I have developed can be used in ANY language.
I have been encouraged to translate it into English and in the future I probably will because I think it would be a worthy alternative for the systems that already exist.
Until today, there is no system that is exclusively developed to learn a deck of cards by heart. Besides that, we use partly a memory technique that is never used before. We did this in collaboration with a specialised memory-clinic and the university.
However, for the moment I am focused to publish the Dutch version, which will appear in a month or so.
English speaking magicians who are interested in an English version can PM me with their email-adress and I will inform them when the time is ripe.

P.S.: The whole text (75 pages) has to be translated by someone who can write decent English in stead of my laughable English, so it will take some time.

Greetings.

Any reviews on this? I've been super curious and am tempted to OCR and translate the text via software.
I'm betting I'll be able to work out all the kinks by hand.

As the author of the book it is not possible to give you an objective review.
The question is if somebody can ...
"The best memorized deck" just does not exist.
Even "the best method to learn it" does not exist.

To decide which memorized deck to learn, depends on a lot of factors that are in play.
In the book I go deeper into the various aspects of that question.
In the end it will always be a personal choice.

The book is specifically aimed at people who are planning to learn a memorized deck.
For people who already master a MD it is of no use (except for people who are interested in the various approaches and techniques that are used in such systems. This is a new approach.)

So I would say:
If you master already a MD: don’t buy this book. (it is tempting but there is almost no practical use in learning a second MD)
If you are planning to learn a MD: definitely buy it. (it’s a new approach that is never used before
and it is surely worth to consider and to compare with the other existing systems)

Once you have read the book and studied the other existing systems, make your OWN choice.
Nobody can make that choice for you.

Don't expect many reviews. I deliberately sent not one review-copy to anyone. One of the (many) reasons therefore I gave above. (what's good for the reviewer isn't therefore good for you and vice versa)
Oh, and the estimated time to "master" the Maigret Stack is from 1 month to even a year Smile (And that is not a joke.)

I treasure the concept of a memorized deck too much to discuss it further in an open forum. As stated before, you can always PM me for any other information.

Sincerely,
The author.
