I have one book mentioned in the article..."Solution of the Voynich Manuscript: A liturgical Manual for the Endura Rite of the Cathari Heresy, the Cult of Isis"(1987), Leo Levitov.

He was passionate about this book and it remains on my shelf in a section devoted to small niches of interests that people have devoted their lives to...books of passion.

It is a bit of a slow read but still quite interesting.

I love Grimiores!

The one Doug is showing us happens to be one of my favorites.

I am actually planning on putting together my own Grimiore.
I feel that it is a way more suitable place for my notes and secrets.
Not only that it can be a very practcle tool for for my performance.

Here are a couple of really cool spots to buy one-

BrahmsBookWorks.com

Does anyone else know of any equally impressive sources for Grimiores?

A downloadable version of this full mss is available on e-bay in the Antiquarian books section. THeir asking price was quite reasonable.

After second guessing myself, I decided to also purchase the DVD for fifteen dollars. When magic gets slow or boring, I can busy my mind with the study of the Voynich mss.
Almost as much fun as owning a Higley.

Well if anybody can decipher this stuff it's you Ron. My brain bales out after the first couple of pages...and to think, I used to have a Top Secret Crypto Clearance.

Doug, I will PM or email you with a recent discovery based on a bit of experimentation. Not exactly a break through, but an approach with what I would call 'promise'. This sharing will be FYEO I want to delve much deeper into the mss over time. Perhaps all I will accomplish will be to drive myself madder than I already am.
Am currently working from articles on the internet, until book and DVD arrive.
Thank you fro bring this to our attention.

As more is revealed, I will share it with more than a
handfull of brothers in the craft.

Doug, maybe you might consider creating some of the fantastical flora and fauna depicted in the Voynich mss drawings. Such items, backed with a history of the text, might create a stirr in some circles / be a draw for those wanting to see the very strange, recently discovered. Preserved and dried between the pages of some ancient text.

Just thinking out loud.

There is a bound printed version in color you can search out:

ISBN: 2350130223 “The Voynich Manuscript”

There is also a PDF version you can download for free:

http://www.filestube.com/e2fc6863cdd4278103e9/details.html

Using the sort of techniques Brother Shadow’s books taught for aging paper,
you could make any length of “ancient grymoire” you’d like….

Magically,

Study and research still progressing. One of the plants translates to read,
lotoisasso. This in turn is an anagram for ;loti sasso. Loti is italian for Lotus. Sasso is a botanical name for the Running Bamboo. Bamboo come in many varieties including the lotus bamboo.
So essentially, the V oynich script seems to be a styalized form of ancient Italian script. Presented in the form of an anagram to be solved in English.
Perhaps I will have more to share after my DVD arrives for study as well.
Thanks to all involved in offering this inspiring thread.
All comments welcome.

It appears that the illustrations of the plants are styalized as well, not drawn realistically, but disguised to conceal their true identity. Thus keeping the plant and its medicinal properties secret. JUst another tidbit for all you Voynich fans.

Yep, the most beautiful grimoire ever and far more than a spoof.
I've one of the very rarest tome still in existence in my collection.
